‘Days Of Our Lives’: Theresa Donovan’s Cartel Past — Priest Shane? Victor Kiriakis Comforts Jen Lilley’s Character On ‘DOOL’ [Spoilers]

Days Of Our Lives fans won’t be seeing Jen Lilley for very much longer. The soap opera actress stopped filming new episodes months ago. Her on-screen character, Theresa Donovan, is leaving Salem. Spoilers for next week reveal that her parents return to the fictional town, Shane dresses up as a priest, and Theresa has links to the cartel in her past. Also, look forward to seeing Victor Kiriakis comforting Theresa in a church.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Theresa Donovan’s exit storyline is now beginning. Jen Lilley leaves Days Of Our Lives later this month and it seems the next few weeks will be quite emotional for her character.

In the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, DOOL spoilers reveal that Theresa has a connection to the cartel. This is obviously Guillermo, a new character who was last seen bothering Blanca when he suddenly saw Theresa and Brady with their son, Tate. Fans speculated that Theresa’s exit had something to do with this new bad guy and they were correct. In an interview, Charles Shaughnessy talks about what to expect.

“Theresa hears from a guy, Guillermo, who is someone that she got involved with in her past. It’s also someone Shane has been trying to apprehend for 10 years.”

Speaking of Shane, Donovan’s mother and father return to Salem just when Guillermo notices Theresa. Jen Lilley’s character on Days Of Our Lives encounters Shane in a strange way. She goes into confessional at the church. Baring her soul, she reveals everything that is on her mind. Imagine her surprise when she finds out that the priest was her father in disguise. She is angry and fans will see a bit of the old Theresa emerge. Remember, Theresa’s father was not around much growing up. Now that Theresa is in trouble, he suddenly wants to help.

Days Of Our Lives spoilers also tease that Victor Kiriakis will comfort Theresa in church. Yes, you read that correctly, and there are even sneak peek photos that confirm it. It will definitely be strange to see Victor and Theresa not fighting, but to have him actually reassure her? That is surely going to be a bizarre moment on daytime television.

What else did Charles Shaughnessy reveal to the magazine? He offered plenty of small tidbits, including Theresa’s troubles “ring a bell at ISA headquarters.” Instead of taking Shane’s help on Days Of Our Lives, Theresa wants to do things her own way. Even though Shane protests, he also understands that for once, his daughter might be right.

“She comes up with a solution to the problem that Shane and Kim consider way too dangerous. But she convinces them that it’s the only real solution, that she has to take this course. Even though Shane is against the idea, because he does feel she is putting herself in danger, at the same time, he also understands that, in practical terms, it is the only real choice. Since he really can’t stop his daughter, Shane assures Theresa that they will be keeping an eye on things from a distance and make sure that everything is okay.”

It will be interesting to discover what plan Theresa comes up with and if it works.
