Shirlene Quigley Missing: Rihanna Pleads For Help Over Mysterious Disappearance Of Backup Dancer
Rihanna says her “heart aches” for missing Shirlene Quigley’s loved ones. Quigley has danced in shows for the top, “most recognizable singers in the world, including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Missy Elliott and Jamie Foxx.” Now People magazine reports that no one knows where she is after Quigley went missing last weekend.
Quigley’s landlord saw her leave her apartment in New Jersey on the afternoon of October 22. He was worried about her, and eventually decided to call someone to check in. Shirlene’s friend said the landlord told her that “Quigley did not seem well” when she left her home that day.
Quigley’s dance students are taking to social media along with Rihanna to share their concern and ask for help finding their missing teacher.
At some point on Saturday, Shirlene stopped into a bridal store in Chelsea and left her cell phone behind. There are no hints about whether she just forgot it or something more sinister happened.
She probably wasn’t at the bridal store to get ready for a surprise wedding, though. Her father explained that Shirlene was most likely at the store to “pick up something for a show.”
Later that night, someone spotted her “getting on a bus at Port Authority around 1 a.m. Sunday,” according to Shirlene’s father, who spoke to NBC New York about his daughter’s disappearance.
That’s the last time anyone reports seeing Shirlene.

Quigley’s father became concerned much earlier in the day when the regular phone call from Shirlene never came.
He says that she always called home to California at 6 p.m. every day just to let her dad know how she was and that she was all right. But on Saturday, she wasn’t all right, and Rihanna, Missy Elliot, and Shirlene’s father are all worried sick about her.

The whole thing gets way more mysterious. Shirlene is “very religious” and had been going to Liberty Church in Brooklyn every Sunday. More recently, her dad described her as becoming euphoric about her religious belief.

There’s no info yet on whether the change was directly related to the church, or whether it could be connected to Quigley going missing, but Shirlene said something really “strange” and anxiety-producing to one of her friends who is also a backup dancer.
“Get ready, it’s about to happen and I’m going to need you to sub for me.”
Rihanna doesn’t know what that mysterious message is about, but she does know that Shirlene is a “beautiful” person. Although she’s is dealing with getting over the heartbreak from her recent split from Drake, Rihanna took time to go public with her concern for the missing Quigley.
Hollywood Life reports that Rihanna thinks Drake and “heartbreak songs” go together, which means the “Needed Me” singer isn’t having an easy time of it post the October 10 breakup with Drake, but that heartache is small compared to her pain over Shirlene Quigley missing.
Rihanna shared an Instagram video of Shirlene, with her own plea for someone to come forward with information about the missing dancer. She’s asking people to call the North Bergen Police Department if they know anything at all about Shirlene going missing.
“This beautiful soul, and former dancer of mine is MISSING!!! My heart aches thinking of how heavy this is on all who love her!
In the video, Quigley is expressing her love of life. She does sound “euphoric” but there’s no official word yet on whether her bubbly attitude might be a sign of something gone terribly wrong that could explain why she’s missing.
“I know people probably think I’m crazy because I’m always telling everyone ‘I love you! I love you!’ Because the minute that I meet somebody I do love them because I know in my heart and in my spirit that that’s my brother and my sister, that’s my neighbor.”
