Bear Grylls Challenges Contestents To ‘Get Out Alive’ With New Reality Show

For five years, Bear Grylls taught viewers how to survive in extreme situations on his show Man Vs. Wild. Well, now it’s time to see if any of that education paid off. The survivalist will be hosting a new show, Get Out Alive, which will test contestants’ survival skills.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has ordered eight episodes of the new series. Get Out Alive is scheduled to hit TV sometime next summer.

Paul Telegdy, NBC alternative president, said in a statement:

“To meet Bear is to meet a force of nature. He is a magnetic and charismatic talent, whose infectious enthusiasm for adventure inspires people to push themselves beyond their limits. These contestants are in for the ride of their lives!”

According to Entertainment Weekly,Get Out Alive will put contestants in teams of two through “extreme tests in the wilderness.”

Grylls added:

“Get Out Alive will be raw, tough and unrelenting, but it will also inspire and teach the essentials that one day may just save your life. The goal is to empower people with the ultimate in both survival and teamwork, and that brings incredible reward … but first there must be some pain.”
