New Images From Disney’s Live-Action ‘Beauty And The Beast’ Give First Look At Provincial Belle And The Beast

If you’re looking to get more of a peek of Disney’s new live-action Beauty and the Beast that is hitting theaters next year, you’re in luck. There has only been a teaser trailer released and a couple of image stills, but new pics have emerged that give us some of the best looks yet. One image shows Emma Watson bringing Belle to life while the world is finally getting a good look at Dan Stevens in the role of the Beast.

With this year being the 25th anniversary of the animated classic Beauty and the Beast, a lot of focus has come back on the hit film. That being said, the live-action remake or reimagining is getting just as much or more attention, and it is still a good five and a half months until it releases in theaters.

A teaser trailer has been revealed for the film, but it didn’t show a whole lot to the fans. Emma Watson was seen in a blurry close-up as she reached for the iconic rose, but other than that, some music played over scenes of Beast’s castle.

Now, it’s time to take our first real look at Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as Beast, thanks to Stitch Kingdom.

You have to admit that the look of the live-action Beast is quite striking and impressive as he was brought to life straight from an animated film. Belle is a human in the classic Disney movie, so it wouldn’t be as difficult to have her transition into Emma Watson’s version of the character.

Dan Stevens, though, had to step into the role of a computer-generated Beast, and Disney has done an overly impressive job with him. Making the dance scene image even better is having Belle in her golden-yellow ball gown that has become an iconic staple in Disney history.

You can almost hear Angela Lansbury singing the fantastic “Beauty and the Beast” theme song, can’t you?

A second image was also released, and it shows Emma Watson as a provincial version of Belle and standing up against a bookcase full of her favorite stories.

It’s hard to look at this image of Emma Watson and not immediately think back to the animated Beauty and the Beast. She really does play the perfect Belle, but the difficult thing will be not hearing Paige O’Hara’s voice coming from the beautiful but funny girl.

Screen Crush pointed out that the teaser trailer was an almost shot-for-shot recreation of the original teaser trailer for the animated version of Beauty and the Beast. Disney is really looking to keep this live-action version as close to the cartoon as possible, and fans should be pleased with that.

Along with Watson and Stevens, Beauty and the Beast will also star Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as LeFou, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, and many others. It is set to hit theaters on March 17, 2017.

There are a number of other live-action movies on the way from Disney, and they include Dumbo, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and even The Lion King.

Disney is really going forward with their live-action remakes or reimaginings after testing the waters with Maleficent and Cinderella. Now, they are bringing many of their animated classics to true life with Beauty and the Beast arriving in theaters in March of 2017. Emma Watson and Dan Stevens look the parts very well, and it already seems as if Disney has another hit on their hands long before it waltzes onto the big screen.
