Country star Jason Aldean was caught up in a scandal this week after images of the married celeb apparently kissing oAmerican Idol‘s Brittany Kerr in a bar on the Sunset Strip popped up on the web.
The Jason Aldean and Brittany Kerr pics caused a firestorm of controversy among fans on the internet, and Kerr subsequently deleted her Twitter page after she was buried in a volley of abuse from Aldean’s fans when the pics went public.
Aldean told fans initially he would prefer to address the Brittany Kerr situation directly with them rather than having gossip sites spread information about the incident, and, today, Aldean took to Facebook to have a Facebook heart to Facebook heart with them and give his side of the story.
So what did Jason Aldean have to say for himself? He owned up and apologized, and, instead of blaming the paparazzi or the web for the scandal, he said:
“Hey Guys – I wanted to talk to you directly, so you were hearing the truth from me and not just reading allegations made about my personal life on gossip web sites.”
“The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar. I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that’s the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I’m not perfect, and I’m sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support.”
As of now, Jason Aldean’s Facebook comments have more than 185,000 likes, an indication that fans are probably ready to forgive the country star for his transgression. You can show the singer your support over on Jason Aldean’s Facebook page.
