‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7: Will Daryl Dixon And Dwight Work Together To Trick Negan And The Saviors? [Spoilers]

The Walking Dead Season 7 airs in just a few months. As fans get ready for AMC to air the premiere, there are a lot of spoilers, rumors, and theories. The possibility that Daryl Dixon and Dwight could work together is another one to add to the list.

TWD theories and spoilers are below. If you don’t want to know what may happen on the zombie apocalypse TV show, then stop reading.

A few weeks ago, a promo clip featuring Dwight (Austin Amelio) was released. It made Daryl Dixon fans panic over the possibility that he could die on popular television series. As speculated by The Inquisitr, just because Dwight had Dixon’s vest and bike does not mean Daryl is going to die on The Walking Dead.

Spoilers from TSDF recently stated that Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride were filming scenes together. The Spoiling Dead Fans wrote on Facebook that the “Caryl” scenes were for the second half of Season 7. This means that Daryl and Carol are both safe, at least until the midseason finale.

So, the question is if Dwight doesn’t kill Daryl on The Walking Dead, then why does he have Dixon’s vest and motorcycle? There are a few reasons this could happen. As fans know, the Saviors take what they want. At one point, Dwight took Daryl’s bike and crossbow, then shot Denise (Merritt Wever) in the eye with it. When Daryl went with Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) to invade the Sanctuary, the bike was found. In Season 7, Dwight might force Daryl to give up his possessions. As viewers know, if people do not comply with Negan and the Saviors, people die. Daryl might not have had a choice.

Here is another theory for The Walking Dead Season 7, and it’s a bit wild, but it could happen. What if Daryl and Dwight end up working together to defeat Negan? Dwight would have to put on an act for Negan and the Saviors. So, this might explain why he has Dixon’s belongings. In the promo clip, which is posted below, watch Dwight’s face. As he rides along the road and slows down to wade through the walkers, he doesn’t look confident. He appears to be worried, nervous, and even scared.

Blocking roads with walkers is a technique that the Saviors use, so he could be headed back to the Sanctuary. This was seen last season when the group tried to get Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) to a doctor at the Hilltop Colony. If Daryl Dixon were eliminated, why would Dwight look so anxious and hesitant? It’s almost as if The Walking Dead character doesn’t want to continue on the road, like he is concerned that someone or something is waiting for him.

Before you laugh off this theory for The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman’s comic books can provide some insight. In the comics, Dwight has remorse for the things he has done. At one point during the war, he begins feeding information about the Saviors to Rick. The details help Alexandria, Hilltop Colony, and the Kingdom defeat Negan and the Saviors. In a way, the TWD character redeemed himself. At least, he did the best he could to make up for his mistakes.

What if something similar happens in the television show? Dwight seems more like a follower than a leader. If The Walking Dead Season 7 spoilers about Daryl being kidnapped are true, then he would be spending time with Dwight. He would have time to talk to him, try to reason with the character, and might be able to persuade him that he is on the wrong side.

In the TWD comics, Dwight’s girlfriend becomes one of Negan’s wives. No man would be okay with this, but Dwight knows first-hand how harsh Negan’s punishments can be. They can even be lethal. It isn’t known if Negan has multiple wives on The Walking Dead TV show or if Dwight’s girlfriend is involved with him. However, there are a million reasons why Dwight should consider switching sides.

If Daryl can reason with Dwight, could the two end up working together? If so, Negan and the Saviors would have to think that everything is normal. It certainly would explain Dwight’s fear in the promo clip and perhaps why he has Daryl Dixon’s vest and motorcycle.

Norman Reedus teased to Entertainment Weekly that Negan will cause broken loyalties in The Walking Dead Season 7. Hopefully, it is not a fan favorite that breaks Rick’s trust. If one of the Saviors helps Rick, it is possible that one of Rick’s group members could try to get on Negan’s good side.

On AMC’s official website, bios for the main characters are listed. At the bottom, it has Austin Nichols’ character, Spencer Monroe. It states that Spencer can be deceitful, but believes in Rick and wants Alexandria to thrive. Could he get more screen time in Season 7, and if so, will his character follow the comics?

In The Walking Dead comic books, Spencer doesn’t really side with Rick Grimes. He ends up betraying him and going to Negan with an offer. The things he says about Rick are negative, and he includes some exaggerated claims. Spencer tries to become a leader, but he could never have predicted that Negan would respond the way he did. Could Spencer betray Rick in the television show, too? Is this what Reedus meant by broken loyalties? Or will the writers change it up and make Spencer someone that Rick can trust?
