‘Arrow’ Star Emily Bett Rickards Confirms Felicity Is Getting A New Boyfriend In Season 5, Is This The End Of Olicity?

Is Felicity leaving Oliver Queen behind in the new season of Arrow?

Emily Bett Rickards recently addressed the rumors of the end of Olicity during Comic-Con in San Diego. Unfortunately, things aren’t looking good for the show’s favorite couple.

According to Comic Book, Felicity will get a new boyfriend in Season 5 of Arrow.

“It is a true rumor. She steps on it pretty hot off the bat. You’ll meet him quite quickly.”

Felicity’s relationship with Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen heated up during Season 4 of the hit show.

In fact, according to International Business Times, Felicity and Oliver almost tied the knot last season.

However, things didn’t work out for the couple after Felicity discovered that Oliver has a son with another woman. Although she doesn’t care about the past relationship, Felicity couldn’t deal with the fact that Oliver lied to her about it.

In the end, the couple called off their plans to wed and went their separate ways.

“I think he’ll be fine,” Amell playfully admitted. “I think he’ll be fine. He will hug a pillow, much like I’m hugging a pillow right now, but he’ll do it in private.”

“Or the opposite of that,” Amell added. “We meet him in episode one, he dies in act four.”

Jokes aside, Oliver has a lot on his plate in the new season. Along with dealing with Fealty’s new lover, Oliver has to take down a big bad that he created.

“I mean, I feel like Oliver will react the way he always reacts,” Amell said. “He’ll seek the advice of others, and be totally calm, and not react violently at all. Or whatever the opposite of that is.”

In addition to the new villain, Oliver also needs to rebuild his team after Diggle (David Ramsey) and Thea (Willa Holland) decided to leave.

Thankfully, TV Line is reporting that Felicity will be there to help Oliver out and hasn’t abandoned him entirely.

“It’s still a partnership,” Wendy Mericle revealed. “You will find out some more right around Episode 5.”

At the same time, Amell admitted that Oliver’s future with Felicity on Arrow will likely remain in the friendship zone.

“We speak to each other as equals, as team members,” he shared. “It’s pretty clear that Oliver loves Felicity, but I don’t know if they’re going to be together [romantically].”

Unfortunately, it isn’t known who Felicity falls for in the new season and who has been cast to play the part. It also isn’t clear if Felicity’s new relationship is just a short fling or something more serious in nature.

Either way, the end of Olicity is now a very real possibility, which isn’t going to go over well with most fans.

Meanwhile, Comic Book Movie is reporting that Barry Allen’s (The Flash) time travel manipulation will not produce major changes for the characters on Arrow. However, Diggle will be affected by what Barry changed, though it still isn’t clear how the character will be different.

In other Arrow news, fans will get to see Oliver in action as Star City’s new mayor next season.

However, Amell revealed that Oliver isn’t cut out for politics and doesn’t perform well without the support of his team.

The new villain in Season 5 is Prometheus, but should not be confused with the villain in Justice League.

Fans can also expect a few more exciting crossovers next season with Supergirl, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow.

The Season 5 premiere of Arrow is set to premiere Oct. 5 on The CW.
