‘Bates Motel’ Closing Its Doors After Season 5, Producer Says It Will Be A ‘Fun’ Season [Spoilers]

Bates Motel will close its doors after Season 5. Sadly, if Dylan and the good Sheriff Romero survive Norman’s descent into madness, they’ll have the strenuous task of boarding up windows and cleaning out the cellar. Who knows what evil secrets are lurking there?

Executive producer Kerry Ehrin recently revealed it’s going to be a “fun” season. That being said, there is no better time to start thinking about making your reservations. Marion Crane, aka Rihanna, has her suitcases packed and ready to go.

According to TV Line, Ehrin also revealed that Vera Farmiga fans will see a lot more of a “more intimate” Norma in the show’s final season. Being dead won’t be a hindrance at all. Some of the footage you’ll see in Season 5 of Bates Motel is actually footage shot during previous seasons that ended up on the cutting-room floor.

As Ehrin put it, the Season 5 Norma is “super-dimensional, multi-faceted… uh, really interesting, really surprising.” Truth be told, there will be more “kissing stuff” between Norman and Norma as well.

If you take the time to watch the video shown below, you’ll learn a bit more about what’s coming in the final scene and season of Bates Motel Season 5. In the clip, Freddie Highmore (Norman) made a very interesting suggestion. He suggested that either Kerry Ehrin or Carlton Cuse take on the role of the last psychiatrist seen in the film Psycho. He or she can then go on to explain all of the things in Norman’s head that never came to light and all of the motivations that caused the other characters to do the things they did.

Max Thieriot (Dylan) touched on the subject of how he will deal with the news of Norma’s untimely death. None of the actors know what’s in store for them until they read the script for the next episode. He said he imagines it will be horrible, especially since they were estranged at the time of her death.

Kerry indicated that Romero has “a lot to go through” in Season 5 of Bates Motel. She also mentioned the fact that while Season 4 ended like a tornado, with everyone spiraling in their own direction, Season 5 of Bates Motel will see certain characters coming back together.

In the event you missed the Bates Motel panel at Comic-Con 2016, you can still be part of the excitement. As recently reported by The Inquisitr, even though this year’s convention is a thing of the past, you can still watch the event via Comic-Con HQ.

Comic-Con HQ is a year-round streaming service, brought to you by Comic-Con International and Lionsgate Entertainment. This video-on-demand option debuted in May 2016. Currently, the subscription fee is $5 per month or $50 per year. In addition to watching a wide variety of nerd-friendly TV shows and eclectic films, Comic-Con HQ allows subscribers to watch recordings of the panels that took place at the 2016 event. Of course, this includes the extremely popular Bates Motel panel.

It’s quite understandable that the cast and crew of Bates Motel are both excited and sad about the final season of the show. Seemingly, the popularity of the series exceeded everyone’s expectations. None of the fans want it to end. Many people are already wondering what they’ll do to fill their time once Bates Motel is nothing more than a scary memory.

What are your thoughts about Bates Motel Season 5? Are you happy to learn that you may see more of Norma than ever before? Even better, she’s slated to be a “racier” Norma at that! Please take a minute or two to leave your Bates Motel-related comment below.
