Arnold Schwarzenegger, former California governor and legendary cinematic action hero, is ready to tell his life story in his new memoir Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story. The tome, which arrives on October 1, will chronicle the body builder’s rise from movie star to political titan. In true Schwarzenegger fashion, the man has decided to tell the world about his upcoming book by releasing a trailer online.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the trailer makes use of clips from the motion pictures that made the actor a worldwide sensation during the 80s and 90s. Say what you will about the guy, but it’s clear that Schwarzenegger definitely understands his audience.
If you’re not in a position to watch the clip embedded beneath this article, here’s what the star of Commando and Predator had to say:
“If my life was a movie, no one would believe it. The directions I’ve chosen, the careers I have conquered. I started out as a bodybuilder from Austria, and became the strongest, most muscular man in the world. But, I had bigger dreams. I wanted to be in movies. I came to Hollywood, and within a decade, I was one of the biggest action stars of all time. Then I took the greatest gamble of my life. I went into politics. I became governor of one of the largest economies in the world. I went from being The Terminator to being The Governator. But this story you know. So are you ready for the story you don’t?”
Here’s an addendum to Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story that occurred too late to be included in the forthcoming tell-all. According to Fox News, Arnold Schwarzenegger recently had a conversation with his next-door neighbor about his tumultuous relationship with Maria Shriver. During the exchange, the Running Man star coughed up a little too much information.
“I think things will work out OK with Maria, but if they don’t, I’m getting me a 20-year-old honey,” he allegedly said. Oh, Arnold.
Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story, which will be published by Simon & Schuster, hits retail shelves on October 1. The aforementioned trailer for the book resides below. Are you looking forward to reading all about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s life?
