Alva Braziel Shot, Black Man Killed By Officers After Waving A Gun

Another black man has been shot and killed by police officers, this time in Houston, Texas. Alva Braziel is now dead after waving a gun at police and then being shot allegedly 10 times. Hollywood Life shared the details about what happened to Alva. This is just two days after numerous police officers were shot in Dallas. Alva Braziel was allegedly waving his gun in the streets before getting shot by police officers. There is no word at this time about what caused Alva Braziel to act this way.

Two police officers shot Alva Braziel, and it was allegedly 10 times. These officers were driving down Cullen Boulevard in Houston when they saw the man waving a revolver in the air while standing in the street. Officers stopped and explained to Alva that he needed to drop the gun, but he didn’t do it. Houston police shared that a civilian also told him to put down the gun, but Alva Braziel wouldn’t drop it. There was no way to convince him to drop it, which then turned into the police handling the situation with Alva Braziel.

Alva Braziel refused to put down the gun and then pointed it at officers. This was when they decided to shoot him. Both officers are under investigation for the shooting. So far, it doesn’t appear that anyone got video of what went down with Alva Braziel to back up what the police officers are saying happened. The police officers did have on body cams during the shooting. At this time, the video from the body cams has not been released, and it will be up to the police department if or when they do this. Those cams should show exactly what went down with Alva Braziel.

The shooting of Alva Braziel happened right after Philando Castile, and Alton Sterling were both killed by police officers in separate shootings. Then snipers shot police officers in Dallas, Texas, during a Black Lives Matter rally. Alva Braziel was killed last night around 12:40 p.m.

Bustle shared details about Alva Braziel and the shooting that went down. At this time, they are not sharing the names of the officers, but one had been on the force for 10 years and the other for 13 years. They were not new officers and had experience on the job. Neither one of the officers were hurt in the shooting. People on social media are going crazy over this shooting, but this probably has to do with how close it was to the other recent ones. So far, it is unclear if Alva Braziel had a permit of any kind to carry this gun. You can open carry legally in this area of Texas if you have the right license, but Alva Braziel may have not had this license.

Zero Hedge shared an actual breakdown of statistics of people that have been shot and killed by officers this year. At this time, 509 people have been shot so far by police officers. Most of the people who have been killed are white males, but these are not the ones making headlines when it goes down. At least 124 of the people who were shot this year are thought to have some kind of mental illness. Only 25 females have been shot, and the rest were all males. Out of these numbers, 282 of the people had a gun on them when shot by officers. Only 22 of them had a toy gun that were mistaken for a real gun by police officers. Alva Braziel will be added to these statistics.
