Ben Affleck And Jennifer Garner — Back Together Or Staying Divorced?

With all of these tabloids floating around, the headlines would have you believe that Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are indeed divorced. While some of them, on the other hand, may suggest the complete opposite. No one is able to accurately report what’s going on with the whole Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner divorce stories. Are they getting back together or staying divorced? Or will they try and reconcile?

Sources close to the stars have told Entertainment Tonight that the divorce process isn’t really moving forward right now.

“They still have not officially filed paperwork for a divorce,” the source told ET. Well, surely, Ben and Jennifer at least know when they will get around to signing the divorce papers, right? The sources claims they “don’t know if that will ever happen.”

It’s an interesting quote. The sources didn’t say that they don’t know if they’ll sign the papers anytime soon, they specifically said that they’re not sure if Ben and Jen will ever get around the filling out the paperwork. In fact, Ben and Jennifer are “making it work,” according to this source.

The Batman v Superman star recently referred to Garner as his “wife,” during an interview with Bill Simmons on HBO. Maybe it’s a hint that the two are indeed reconciling and trying to make the marriage work, keeping their business private by neither confirming, nor denying it to the public. Maybe it was just Ben saying “wife” because he still deeply cares for her and it just slipped out. It’s honestly anyone’s guess.

Jennifer Garner’s dad recently made some statements that made this whole situation better. He claimed Jennifer and Ben were indeed reconciling and working on their marriage. The only problem is, he didn’t actually say that, according to Gossip Cop.

Radar Online published an article which stated Ben and Jen were back together, and that Jennifer’s father had confirmed it. Media outlets everywhere picked this up and ran with it, unsurprisingly, before the story was proven to be false. Garner’s father did do an interview talking about a recent flood disaster in West Virginia, and apparently Radar Online took that interview and turned it into an opportunity to create clickbait. The headline of the piece was “Jen & Ben Back On For Good! Her Dad Reveals How She Won Him Back.”

That “Ben and Jen are back together” rumor was put to bed pretty quickly. If we go back to the statement the couple made last year when Affleck and Garner announced their divorce, we can see there that they weren’t planning on talking about any of this with the media.

“After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” Jen and Ben both said in a statement to ET on June 30, 2015. “We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time. This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding.”

Of course, they have both since talked about the aftermath and the process of keeping the family together, co-parenting and all of that. But there have been so many rumors this year centered on this marriage/divorce. If none of these rumors were true, if Ben and Jen are not getting back together, surely a reliable source would have confirmed it by now. Specifically, a source close to Ben and Jennifer.

A friend of Jennifer Garner’s recently spoke with People and mentioned how Ben isn’t really too keen on finalizing this divorce. Apparently, Jennifer isn’t in a rush to finalize, but still ultimately wants to go through with the divorce.

“She did have the best time in Europe with Ben and the kids,” Garner’s friend mentioned. “She seemed to enjoy spending time with Ben again.”

But to be fair, there could be any number of reasons as to why this divorce process has stalled.
