Boy In Critical Condition After Being Found Underwater In Pool On Royal Caribbean’s Anthem of the Seas

A young 8-year-old boy is now in critical condition after being found underwater on the Anthem of the Seas cruise ship. The young boy was found in the pool of the Royal Caribbean cruise ship. Us Magazine shared that this boy almost drown on the Anthem of the Seas. The young boy was underwater for approximately 8-10 minutes before being located. Us Magazine shared the details about what happened on the Anthem of the Seas to this young child who was just off to enjoy a vacation.

The young boy was picked up from the Anthem of the Seas and then transported to Staten Island University Hospital North by helicopter. This all happened when the Anthem of the Seas left Bayonne, New Jersey, earlier in the day and was bound for a 9-day cruise to Bermuda and the Caribbean. He was found in the pool.

After this all went down on the Anthem of the Seas, the family was removed from the ship. After that, the Anthem of the Seas, went back out for the rest of the guests to enjoy their trip. Royal Caribbean did share a statement saying, “The ship altered its course and sailed back toward Bayonne, New Jersey, for a medical evacuation. Royal Caribbean’s Care Team is providing support to the guest’s family.”

Royal Caribbean is posting updates on Twitter, so that everyone can find out what is going on with the young boy. There is no word at this time on when the incident happened, or how nobody noticed the young boy in the Anthem of the Seas pool for that long. Hopefully, there will be great news coming out soon. Luckily, he was able to be taken to the hospital where he can get treatment.

ABC News shared that this is the same ship that was forced to turn around not long ago due to a storm. The Anthem of the Seas had to turn around due to hurricane-force winds and 40-foot waves off the coast of the Carolinas. They actually had to turn around again the same month due to a storm.

Syracuse shared the details of what else went down on the Anthem of the Seas a few years ago. On February 6, they encountered really high winds, and all of the passengers had to say in their rooms for hours to avoid being injured. The ship was even leaning at a 45-degree angle at one point during this storm. Another Royal Caribbean ship also had a sad incident this year when a 46-year-old Texas man fell 100 feet overboard while traveling on Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas off the coast of Florida.

At this time, there are very few updates on the young boy who was found in the pool on the Anthem of the Seas. They have also not released his name at this time. It does have everyone curious how nobody noticed him for such a long time and who was in charge of watching the child at the time. While on a cruise ship, children can be with their parents, alone, or even in the children’s camp. The boy was only 8-years-old, which is a concern of how nobody noticed him in the pool quicker.
