Blake Lively Shares Picture With The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants Co-Stars, Calls Them ‘My Mentors, My Inspiration’

It’s been 11 years since the first The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants movie was released, but it looks like Blake Lively is still BFFs with her co-stars from the movie. Blake shared an absolutely adorable image of her flanked on all sides inside an aircraft by Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, and Amber Tamblyn. In the Instagram post, Blake spoke highly about her relationship with Alex, America, and Amber, and she said, “Not just my friends, but my sisters, my inspiration – Artists, poets, activists, women.”

It looks like Blake Lively is also supporting the #LeanInTogether campaign. She also wrote in the post, “We can and do empower each other. When women support each other, we accomplish amazing things. Celebrate the women who #LeanInTogether with you.”

The #LeanInTogether hashtag is a social media campaign by women to encourage and support each other. Not just Blake, but other female celebrities like Reese Witherspoon, Victoria Beckham, and Christina Aguilera have posted on social networks expressing gratitude to important women in their life.

In a recent interview with Sirius XM, Blake Lively confirmed that there is a “strong chance” that there might actually be a third installment of The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants movie.

“The four of us are still best friends. If you wait this long to do a third movie, it needs to honor the story and the legacy. We wouldn’t be making a movie for sixteen-year-olds again, we’d be trusting that the audience really grew up with us. I think that would be really interesting.”

The first The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants movie came out in 2005, and a sequel in 2008. Both the movies were fairly successful at the box-office. Blake Lively starred in both the films.

Blake has also been in the news after her picture on Instagram with the tagline “L.A. face with an Oakland booty” caused some controversy. Blake was called out on social media for her insensitive usage of lyrics from a Sir-Mix-A-Lot song. Responding to all the online criticism, Blake stated that her intention was not to hurt anyone. She said, “It’s just about celebrating women’s bodies and that’s what I was doing. I would never want to hurt anyone’s feelings or upset anyone. I was celebrating my body.”

Recently, Blake Lively stated that she doesn’t relate to any of her characters. In an interview with Buzzfeed, Blake said the following.

“I played a crack addict from Boston, I’ve played an Upper East Side princess, I’ve played a blind woman, I’ve played a woman that was an incredible surfer being eaten by a shark, I’ve played a woman who’s 108 years old who’s never aged, I’ve played a great soccer player who magically fits into pants — what else have I done? I’ve played a woman who’s married to a 74-year-old Alan Arkin, I’ve played someone who’s a fighter pilot who’s with a superhero. I don’t think I’ve ever played anything like myself but I think that would be — oh, someone who’s had two boyfriends who were both drug dealers and was kidnapped by the Mexican Cartel, that doesn’t relate.”

Blake’s latest movie the The Shallows is out in the the theaters and has received generally favorable reviews. There are some extreme stunts in the movie and during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Blake mentioned that she performed some of the stunts, not just the surfing. Here’s a quote from the interview.

“But I did my own stunts until the last two weeks. It’s such a physical movie. There’s a scene where I’m swimming up to the buoy and I crack my face under water and my nose is pouring blood and that was real. That happened. I wasn’t supposed to crack my face underwater. It was just this thing is crashing into the water with these four-foot waves and I couldn’t see, my perspective was off. The waves pulled me the same time that the buoy crashed down and cracked my nose and blood was pouring out. I thought I’m going to keep going during this take unless I pass out because I want them to see what they did to me! I want them to see how determined I am! I’m very proud of my bloody nose. I was in so much pain for a week.”

Now that The Shallows is out and Blake Lively has posted a picture with her co-stars/friends from The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants, we are holding our breath for a concrete announcement regarding the third installment of the movie.
