Bill & Hillary Clinton’s Daughter Gives Birth To Second Son, Aidan

This month has been nothing short of fantastic for Hillary Clinton. Only weeks after pretty much securing a victory over Bernie Sanders in the Democratic Primary, she has found yet another reason to celebrate, as she welcomes the newest member of her family. Just in time for this year’s father’s day, Chelsea Clinton, the only daughter of Hillary and former president Bill Clinton, and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, announced the birth of their second child on Saturday.

Chelsea, now 36, lived in the White House between the ages of 12 and 20, while her father was president. She is currently the vice-chairperson of the Clinton Foundation, a non-profit organization set up by Bill Clinton that aims to improve the health and wellness of people around the world.

Chelsea, and her investment banker husband, Marc, released a statement saying that they were “overwhelmed with gratitude and love” whilst they celebrated the birth of their son, whom they have named Aiden. This is the couple’s second child. They also have a daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky, who was born two years ago in September, 2014.

Hillary and Bill Clinton also released a statement saying that they were overjoyed and feeling “over the moon.”

“We are overjoyed to be grandparents again with the arrival of our grandson, Aidan Clinton Mezvinsky, born on Saturday, June 18, 2016. We are all over the moon as Chelsea and Marc welcome Charlotte’s little brother to the world and grateful for our many blessings. Chelsea and Aidan are both doing well and enjoying this very special time together.”

Despite having a pretty full schedule, as her election campaign blazes on, Hillary has taken some time off for her family. She did not attend to any public events on Thursday and Friday, and also had nothing scheduled for the weekend.

Chelsea has been actively involved in Hillary’s presidential campaign from the beginning, and she only stopped travelling long distances about a month ago. However, she stilled appeared in a fundraising event in New Jersey, right before the state’s primary about a couple of weeks ago.

And Hillary appears to a proud grandmother. She has been known to frequently mention her granddaughter during political events, and the people attending these events are constantly asking her for updates on Charlotte. But despite all this interest on her granddaughter, Hillary says that she wants Charlotte to retain her privacy. Earlier this month, she spoke about her experience of becoming a grandmother, calling it “truly like falling in love all over again.”

“I just adore children. But until it happened to me, I just could not understand the impact. It is truly like falling in love all over again. There is nothing like it. And to see your child, whether it is a daughter or a son, become a parent, is so incredible.”

On the occasion of Father’s day, Hillary posted this old photo of her, Bill and Chelsea earlier today.
