Minnesota Casino Makes Record 1 Ton Cheese Burger

Carlton, MN – A casino in Carton, Minnesota has decided to go after a record in the Guinness Book of World’s Records to solidify its place in history. The gambling house decided to cook up the world’s largest bacon cheeseburger. The massive comfort food was more than 10 feet in diameter and weighed in at slightly more than a ton, according to Fox News.

The giant burger was cooked up on Sunday during a Labor Day event at the Black Bear Casino Resort located on an Indian reservation outside of Carton, Minnesota. It broke the previous record by weighing in at exactly 2,014 pounds.

A representative from Guinness Records was on hand to verify the feat. Representative Philip Robertson verified the record on site. He called the effort a result of “remarkable teamwork.”

The real important question that Robertson was asked was whether the burger stood up to a taste test, to which the grinning representative said:

“The burger actually tastes really good”

According to the Duluth News Tribune, the previous record Bacon Cheeseburger clocked in at a meager 881 pounds.

A Duluth News Tribune report says the previous mark was a mere 881 pounds (400 kilograms).

Black Bear’s record setting burger contained 60 pounds (27 kilograms) of bacon, 50 pounds (23 kilograms) of lettuce, 50 pounds (23 kilograms) of sliced onions, 40 pounds (18 kilograms) of pickles, and 40 pounds (18 kilograms) of cheese.

The patty alone took more than 4 hours to heat up to an edible temperature and required a crane to flip it over during cooking.

The burger was eaten by all the casino patrons in attendance.
