WWE News: AJ Styles Is The Odds-On Favorite To Defeat John Cena At ‘Money In The Bank’

Next week’s WWE Money in the Bank show has the potential to be one of the best shows of the year, as the card has at least three matches that have a chance to steal the show. One of those matches is the long-awaited dream match between 15-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena and former TNA and IWGP Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles.

The match at Money in the Bank will be Cena’s first televised match since late last year, but, he’s already knocked the ring rust off because he’s already been in the ring with Styles in dark matches and at several WWE live events. So the two men have already had a chance to get to know each other’s in-ring styles.

With it being Cena’s return match, most believe that the former WWE Champ will pick up the win at Money in the Bank But, according to Oddschecker, that’s not the case, as Styles is a slight favorite over Cena. Of course, that could change after this coming Monday’s Raw.

The Styles vs. Cena rivalry is scheduled to last a couple of months, so even if Styles does pick up the win at next Sunday’s Money in the Bank, Cena will likely get his win back at some point. As for who will end up winning the feud, well, that’ll likely be determined at August’s SummerSlam.

Rumor has it that both Styles and Cena will be the faces of the SmackDown brand after the brand-split next month, so their rivalry will continue on WWE’s Tuesday night program, and unless something changes, their rubber match at SummerSlam will be for the SmackDown Championship.

Vince McMahon reportedly already has the top matches at SummerSlam all planned out, and Cena vs. Styles is one of those matches. Most are predicting that Cena’s record-tying sixteenth WWE World Heavyweight Championship reign will begin in August, which means he’ll end up defeating Styles in the rubber match and winning their feud. It’s unclear what Styles will go on to do after that.

There is a rumor going around that Randy Orton will join forces with John Cena upon his return, and the two of them will feud with The Club. So, Styles could be moving on to a singles feud with Randy Orton this coming fall, which is one Styles’ dream feuds, as he told Sirius XM’s Sam Roberts prior to WrestleMania 32 that he’s itching to get in the ring with WWE’s “Apex Predator.”

There’s also a chance that Styles could end up clashing with Finn Balor after SummerSlam, as Balor is expected to be called up to the WWE main roster at some point this year.

As of right now, it looks like Balor will be facing Shinsuke Nakamura at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn, which takes place the night before SummerSlam. That’ll likely be Balor’s final NXT show before he heads to the main roster.

Everybody knows both men’s history as the two leaders of The Bullet Club in Japan, so it only makes sense to have the two men clash at some point after Balor is brought up to the main roster. But, we could see Balor join forces with Styles before The Club ultimately turns on “The Phenomenal One.”

All the talk about Styles’ future is all speculation, but we do know that he’ll be in the ring with John Cena for the majority of this summer, and the two men will undoubtedly give us some of the best matches of the entire year throughout the summer.
