Obama Joker poster neither biting nor satire

obama-socialism

Really, right wing?

Is this all you have? Blogs have been buzzing all morning about the “mysterious” posters showing up in a few places in Los Angeles, depicting Barack Obama as the Joker and captioned not-so-cleverly “Socialism.” The poster speaks to right-wing fears that poor people might be able to see doctors, too, and ostensibly the selection of notoriously liberal Hollywood was a deliberate choice.

Meh. I appreciate good political commentary of any affiliation but this is just lazy. Protest fail. Are we supposed to be scared of socialism? Because last I checked, all my European friends and lovers have all their teeth left and don’t have to reset their own bones.

“Are we supposed to be scared of socialism?” Might be MORE frightening than Obama himself. Perhaps you should venture to use your brain a little. Europe's social endeavors have been largely successful thanks to what? Since WWII the United States has served as the military muscle behind most of Europe. Which represents the most significant piece of Bush's announcements to close many European installations. Europe has had 50 years of a free ride and now we will see within the next 5 years, just how stable that socialized economy is. More so than $$$ however is the forfeiture of personal freedoms. Life isn't easy but I like my chances when left to my own means, and the more power we allow Washington, the fewer our own means.

All to often Liberals run to defend the person in office by trying to make us all feel as though we have no heart. Try listing all the social programs we the working people support. I believe in free market, hard work, and not letting guilt run my life. I feel for persons with little to no income, and give to programs to assist those who are in need.

Don't make me laugh. Your pathetic criticism of the Socialist/ Nazi Obama poster is, as I said, pathetic.. Sociailism is slavery and if you want to live it go to the EU. I'll take my freedom and use the teeth I have left at 71. In fact, socialism is unconstituional, but who gives a screw about the Constitution except honest people.

    Really? All your European lovers?

  6. Great satire… or would you prefer we dust-off W's monkey suit and try it on O-boy?

The poster is brilliant Kim. Socialism is organized crime, and Obama is the master villain. Your condescension is laughable.

  8. I can't stop myself…..

    Why so serious?

I don't recall, was it newsworthy then?

As a Libertarian, I agree with you on principal, but as a green Libertarian, I think it's bullshit we pour money into the military and Goldman Sachs and not healthcare. The for-profit system is just f*cked- inefficient. We're not as healthy as Europe.

I'm not Liberal, but I think that we need to kick corporations off welfare and redirect our funds to the weaker elements of society-elements which have spiraled out of control since Bush 2.

Ah, but the beauty of a democracy is that we get to be of different minds here. I don't wanna live in Europe, I wanna live here and have socialized healthcare.

How is it brilliant, though? Obvious commentary is obvious. Look at Billionaires for Bush. That was effing clever. :)

I can't see the video (I think it's my browser) but I would love to see private insurance eliminated. I just personally don't believe that medical care and for-profit insurance are a good combination. I think your analysis is spot on, but how anyone can think that healthcare will be the catalyst for chaos? May I direct them back to the clusterf*cks that were Iraq, Afghanistan, the loss of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina, Habeus Corpus, Cheney leaking CIA info for retribution, so on, so forth…

  16. It's not as bad as the Obama-Hitler posters that LaRouche has poppin all over the place.

    Stupid. Shit.

i have been a reublican and i thnk that obama wants to destroy the usa to make it a third world country he also wants to run the world as a dictator we don,t need a dictator and i will not bow down to obama

Okay, honestly, I'm going to assume you're serious here and ask for what purpose Obama would want to “turn the US into a third world country.” Will he knock down all our architecture and replace it with crudely built huts? Will he deliberately sabotage our infrastructure? I don't understand how anyone could think that is a real possibility. :/

It's brilliant because it captures Obama's true nature in one image. Also, It's timed to catch him as his popularity is in decline. The image generated hundreds of news stories and exposed a different assessment of the president that cannot be found in any previous press coverage. But most of all, it's brilliant because people like you who support Obama blindly and unquestioningly don't understand it. Therefore your criticisms sound like flailing inept whining.

How do you know I blindly follow Obama? I already said I'm a Libertarian and your analysis of the poster is your opinion, just as I offered mine. I'm not whining, just underwhelmed at a rather lame attempt at protest art.

socialism is scary … so is this narcissistic asshole. I love it when liberals say ” I don't see the connection, how can the man that is Lincoln/FDR/JFK/King be the Joker?”

I also thought it was rather entertaining when one liberal dumbass said, umm joker no I don't see it but robin hood maybe!

    they're so fucking stupid …

  24. As a libertarian, you're *for* socialized medicine? Seems to be a contradiction in terms to me.

  25. Those clusterfscks were all as a result of direct governmental bureaucracy in action. This is the same bureaucracy you'd like to see in charge of medical coverage in America? That which is responsible for our very lives?

I'm pretty sure that the government, particularly American-style bureaucracy (note I'm not saying Obama-style liberalism/socialism), will be a good chaos agent.

You're a Libertarian and you support govt. involvement in the health care industry? I doubt you even know what a Libertarian is.

  27. Wow I had no idea the <ahem> artist…was the same. You can't make this stuff up.

You're the one that was bragging that all your lovers had all their teeth. Really high standards there. Oh, and I found your picture in your profile. You look more like the joker than the Obama poster does. No wonder you have to go to Europe to find someone willing to screw you.

HA ha ha … it's only newsworthy when it's your feewings that are hurt. Unreal.

  30. Here’s the real reason the Democrats are pushing health care. We have a 10% unemployment rate. with those people who had no Insurance prior to the collapse of our economy now we have an additional 10%. One thing i would ask all of you to do, prior to bashing Bush, Look at the New York stock exchange for the last 10 years. The market was going up until September when Barney Frank and the Dem’s pulled the Fanny Mae October surprise.

Libertarian?!?!? You have fully confirmed that you have no clue what you are talking about? A Libertarian, self-described as green, blue, purple or rainbow colored, does not want socialized ANYTHING. The military is one of the few things the government has the constitutional authority TO pour money in. That is their constitutional obligation in fact. Welfare, Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, corporate bailouts, etc. etc. etc. are well outside any parameter set forth in the constitution and are in fact not RIGHTS. Ultimately, these programs serve a much more sinister roll in that they centralize power and control and even you can see how power and control is a finite matter. You as an individual either have the power and control over your own choices and decisions or you do not. A libertarian wants as much as is societally reasonable to remain in your individual hands and the central beast to be shackled and bound instead. In ANY case socialism of anything, negatively as well as positively, removes that power and control of options, which is summarily a removal of LIBERTY.

  32. This is oh sooooo different than all them lovingly Photochopped Bushitler, Chimpy McHalliburton posters and this most awesome one of Palin http://youonmyblog.blogspot.com/2008/10/boo.html

    http://youonmyblog.blogspot.com/2008/10/boo.html

  33. Wow, you are an empty shell.

  34. Yawn. Having grown up in Canada I don’t think most Americans comprehend so called socialized medicine. HELLO! Its NOT free. Are you idiots? In most provinces you pay insurance premiums AND your taxes are higher. And NO dental is NOT included. Except in Quebec. And every province is different in its coverage. Its 11 separate systems. The great thing is it does have a 1% administrative overhead and is very lean compared to the US system, and yes litigation is not that far behind the US system. Its not the litigation driving up the cost but more so the cost of saying “no.”

Obama is NOT proposing a Canadian style system. It is really a bastardized British style system which is much, much worse. And he WON’T decrease administrative costs. That is the really sad joke I find. All the fools that think his system will anything remotely like in Canada. It won’t be. Employers are not FORCED to pay for employee coverage. Employees pay it, and its optional for a company to pay an individuals premiums in the provinces that charge one. Why do they charge one? So people will know its NOT FREE!

Obama will cover illegals? No, they don’t do that in Canada sorry to say. And yes they have a problem with Americans trying to get free health care there. Probably the same ones who won’t pay premiums for insurance in the US.
