WWE Breaking News: John Cena Returns On ‘Raw’, Gets Confronted By AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, And Luke Gallows

Tonight’s Raw was built around the return of 15-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena, and there was a ton of speculation surrounding his return, and what WWE had in store for him for the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, and it couldn’t have been made clearer who the former U.S. Champ would be feuding with this summer.

AJ Styles interrupted Cena shortly after he ended his return speech, and after several minutes of the typical dueling chants from the crowd, Styles welcomed Cena back to Raw, and he shook his hand. Then, The Club, a.k.a Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows interrupted, and they threatened to take out both Cena and Styles, but that was to set up “The Phenomenal One’s” heel turn.

Styles officially broke it off with The Club following Extreme Rules, but, as of tonight, the trio has gotten back together, and they’ll now be feuding with John Cena, as Styles, Anderson, and Gallows completely laid waste to the fifteen-time World Champ.

It hasn’t yet been announced that Cena will be facing Styles at the Money in the Bank show on June 19, but the match will probably be announced at some point in the next week.

Cena and Styles have been teasing a match with one another on social media for quite some time now, and many were wondering exactly when the dream match would end up taking place. Well, now we finally have the answer to that question.

Prior to Cena’s return, WWE ran a poll asking fans what they thought the former U.S. Champ would do upon his return, and the majority of voters believed that he would challenge Rusev for the United States Championship. But, at least for now, Cena won’t be in the U.S. Title picture.

There were some who believed that Cena would end up in the Money in the Bank ladder match, but that’s clearly not happening.

AJ Styles is now a full-on heel, and it looks like he’ll be leading The Club for the foreseeable future, which means that Finn Balor will probably be staying down in NXT for quite a bit longer. It also means that there’s a good chance that Balor will regain the NXT Championship at the NXT Takeover show in just under two weeks.

So, we finally have a feud for John Cena and a new feud for AJ Styles, and, as previously mentioned, it looks like the Cena vs. The Club storyline will be a long-term thing, with the first match being at Money in the Bank.
