Josh Duggar Fans Lavish Him With Praise, Want Him Back On TV With Anna

Josh Duggar and his wife, Anna, are still struggling to save their marriage. In a statement on the Duggar Family website, the former 19 Kids and Counting stars informed fans that they’ve enlisted the help of a marriage counselor as they try to move on from Josh’s cheating scandal. Some fans of the Duggar family are hopeful that this update is a sign that Josh will eventually return to TV after being conspicuously absent on TLC’s Jill & Jessa: Counting On.

When Josh Duggar confessed to cheating on Anna and sexually molesting his younger siblings, it seemed as though his reality TV career would be over for good. However, now some Duggar fans are calling for Josh to return to TV. These fans want to watch Josh and his wife work on restoring their marriage, and they reacted very positively to the joint statement that Josh and Anna released on Friday. In it, they reveal that they’re undergoing marriage counseling now that Josh is back from his lengthy stay at a faith-based treatment center.

“As we enter into a long family weekend together, we want to thank each of you for the prayers, love and encouragement you’ve sent our way. Since the residential treatment program ended, we have been working with a professional marriage and family counselor to take important steps toward healing.”

Josh and Anna revealed that staying married is proving to be a real struggle, admitting that “some days are very difficult.” However, they believe that their faith will help them persevere.

“It is a long road to rebuild trust and a truly healthy relationship,” Josh and Anna wrote. “We are very thankful for God’s forgiveness, grace and help, as it is our strength and guide to rebuilding our lives.”

Some fans want to join Josh and Anna Duggar during their journey down this “long road,” and they think that TLC should welcome Josh Duggar back to TV by putting a positive spin on his scandals.

“I believe Josh and Anna should have their own show because as they walk through these next few very difficult years they could be such an positive example of how to get through a situation like this,” one fan commented on the Duggar Family Blog.

“Keep your eyes on the Lord and everything else will follow. Please know that we are in your corner and hope to see all of you again soon on TV,” another wrote.

Other fans indicated that they still adore Josh by calling him an “inspiration” and letting him know that they are “proud” of him for working on his marriage. One commenter even said that Josh should be a marriage counselor.

“You are very blessed to have a husband that wants to be restored and is willing to work through the process. A lot of men are not willing,” a message aimed at Anna Duggar read.

As Page Six reports, Josh Duggar initially did not include his wife in his attempt to salvage his marriage and rescue his image. Instead of heading to couples therapy immediately, Josh spent six months away from his wife and kids in a faith-based treatment center. He has not spoken publicly since last May when In Touch Weekly revealed that he sexually molested a few of his younger sisters as a teenager, but Josh Duggar is slowly resuming his life in the public eye. He was photographed playing mini-golf with his dad, Jim Bob Duggar, on April 29, and People reports that he recently resurrected his former career as a car salesman.

Selling cars requires Josh to interact with the public, so he’s clearly decided that he’s not going to hide away from the world forever. He’s even making sure that his fans and the press don’t forget about him by releasing statements about the state of his marriage. Similar celebrity statements about scandals usually include requests for privacy, but Josh and Anna do not tell their fans that they don’t want any attention lavished on them while they’re in marriage counseling. Instead, the couple asks admirers for their “continued prayers.”

This behavior is an indicator that Josh isn’t opposed to living his post-scandal life in the public eye, and he may even be taking baby steps toward a return to TV. As Hollywood Gossip reports, a source close to the Duggar family recently revealed that Josh has aspirations to score his own TV series. He’s reportedly “determined to fix his image” so that he can make “real money” by getting back in front of the TLC cameras, and he’s hoping that a tell-all interview with Dr. Phil or Megyn Kelly will help his cause.
