Nick Jonas On Gay Sex Scenes: ‘Technically, I Have Done That’

Nick Jonas has been accused of pandering to the gay community when it came to the release of his debut album. It somehow worked, because he has become a gay icon in his own right despite the criticism he received.

Now the singer is opening up about gay sex, among other things. Nick Jonas currently plays a closeted gay man on the U.S. martial arts drama Kingdom. Jonas’ sexuality has always been a hot topic among the gay community. The “Chainsaw” singer is claiming that he’s only had gay sex on screen, contrary to what his fans believe.

“On Kingdom I have a sex scene with a guy. Is it always this thing have I, has Nick? No. But it’s my lips, it’s my hands, it’s my body, even if I’m playing a character. So technically I have done that, so I wouldn’t say I haven’t, because that would be lying.”

He added that “As me, Nick, I am very open about who I am and that I have nothing to prove. I know what I am, I’ve been honest about that.”

Earlier this month, Nick Jonas spoke to OUT Magazine about how he prepared for his role of Nate Kulina. He revealed that he spoke to some of his close friends, some of which were raised in conservative upbringings, about their coming-out experiences.

“It was a good way to research,” says the famous Jonas brother, “to kind of build the character with some elements of real life.”

Nick Jonas has been committed to his support of the LGBT community by cancelling tour dates in North Carolina in protest of the state’s anti-LGBT ordinance. Nick was questioned over the criticism he’s received over the support of his LGBT fans, which he calls “sad.”

“It’s not the majority, but a large handful have a negative opinion for whatever reason,” he said, “and I think it’s really quite sad.”

It’s a far cry from the former JoBro who sang “Dear God” and wore a purity ring, which he and his brothers promoted to their young adoring female fans.

But it’s clear that Nick Jonas is very much into women. The singer has admitted that he sometimes hits up women on the DM (direct message) on Instagram.

“It’s so true. I’m shameless about it,” he revealed.

Does he get a lot of responses by sliding into girls’ DMs? No, because they probably don’t believe that it’s Nick Jonas messaging them.

“A lot of no responses, actually. I imagine an attractive girl gets direct messages all the time, so it’s kind of played out.”

What also didn’t work was hitting on Rihanna, even though he didn’t attempt to slide into her DMs. He revealed that he has a serious crush on RiRi, who rejected him on the spot when he asked her out.

“I flirted with Rihanna once. It didn’t work – but it didn’t not work. It didn’t go anywhere but it was a great conversation.”

Even though their conversation didn’t lead anywhere, Nick still has his sights on the hot pop star. He’s hoping that once Drake steps aside, he can work his magic on the “Kiss It Better” singer.

Meanwhile, he kind of admitted that he’s been dating Lily Collins, daughter of musician Phil Collins, for the past few months. Apparently, Nick and Lily have been friends for a few years and have decided to go out on a few dates.

“We went out a couple of times. She is amazing. We have known each other for years, just running in the same circles. I’ve enjoyed meeting different people and spending time with people with all the cards on the table. All people need human interaction at some level. And at my age too, dating is important, getting to know yourself by meeting different people, seeing what it’s all about.”

Nick Jonas has been linked to a long list of Hollywood starlets, including Kate Hudson, Delta Goodrem, and Selena Gomez. When it comes to finding the right women, Jonas says he’s looking for someone who can provide him with “respect” and “companionship.”
