‘The Walking Dead’ Casting Teen To Appear In Season 7 — Who Is Blake In ‘TWD’?

The Walking Dead Season 7 is full of casting notices and there is yet another one, but this time, it isn’t an adult the AMC is looking for. Instead, a teenager will appear when TWD returns in fall 2016. Who is Blake? Is this someone from the comic books or not? What group will Blake be a part of and how important is he to the main storyline?

Warning: The Walking Dead Season 7 spoilers are ahead.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, there was a casting notice issued for Augustus. Even though the notice called for Augustus, we are pretty sure it is code for Ezekiel. He is a character from the TWD comic books. He leads a group called The Kingdom and has a pet tiger named Shiva.

As for the newest casting notice, Spoil The Dead revealed that TWD is looking for a teenage boy to play in Season 7. He will be introduced in the first half and have a recurring role in the second half of The Walking Dead. How is this boy described?

“… warm-hearted and scruffy, and one whose sarcasm is as close as he gets to antagonizing others. (Scruffy is a direct quote from the casting notice, so if he’s not scruffy, we riot!) ‘Blake’ cares deeply about others and wants to protect them, aiming to take on more responsibility and duties,” CinemaBlend wrote regarding Blake in TWD. “He, like everyone else, has also been privy to huge losses.”[Photo by Jesse Grant/Getty Images for AMC]

In the zombie apocalypse, every person has experienced death and losses. However, not all are prepared to live in the new world. We saw that with Alexandria, how many of the original residents had never been outside the walls since the zombie apocalypse began.

So, who is Blake? As CinemaBlend noted, he doesn’t appear to be from the TWD comic books. Based on the timing of his recurring episodes, it does sound like he will be part of The Kingdom. In the comics, Alexandria, the Hilltop Colony, and The Kingdom unite to defeat Negan and the Saviors. The battle is won, but only after many lives are lost. Perhaps Blake will be one teenager who will be fighting among the men and women? Or he could strike up a friendship with Carl Grimes, since he is also a teenager.

Other TWD Season 7 spoilers include Daryl Dixon getting kidnapped by Negan and one of the Saviors running away, which leads to a car chase. Melissa McBride’s character Carol Peletier was seen filming in a new location and there are some horses nearby. Also, expect plenty of scenes at the Saviors’ home base, called the Sanctuary.

Fans have been upset over the Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead. However, Robert Kirkman defended the cliffhanger during a Reddit AMA. Also, Norman Reedus had something to say about the subject.

“They’re still talking about it. I’ve been making art for a long time and you want people to talk. Sometimes you make something just to get people to talk. The fact that people are still talking is a huge compliment to how that episode was executed and the acting in it and the writing of it. That’s a good thing. Talk sometimes… it’s good,” Norman Reedus told Entertainment Weekly Radio. “I know we all have phones and everything is instant gratification now. I get it. I like that too. I like the controversy, to be honest. For that many people to be that invested in that show and freaking out, I think it’s great.”

However, the actor also insists that fans will be pleased when the Season 7 premiere of TWD airs on AMC. He even used the words “the planet is going to explode.”
