One Direction Breakup — Is Louis Tomlinson, Simon Cowell Bond Cause Of Beef With Harry Styles?

Are One Direction breaking up? That is the million dollar question, and it was on everybody’s mind when #ThankYou1D trended on Twitter today. Fans dug out classic images of Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik and expressed their feelings about the crazy plot twists in the world of One Direction, previously covered by Sugarscape.

[C]ongratulations, young Directioner. You’ve officially survived six whole years full of five becoming four, actual 1D children, break ups, make ups, solo careers, shaved heads, long curls, Kardashian snogs and gawd knows what else.

One of the biggest shocks in the last five years came when it was revealed that the reason for the One Direction hiatus may be a rumored feud between Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson. The bombshell was dropped by Dan Wootton of the Sun, who also hinted that Louis “took control” of One Direction, making decisions about performances and time off and convincing Simon Cowell to give him his own label.

Louis took control of 1D, making himself the band’s unofficial leader and regularly going into battle with their management and record company.

According to a source, Louis Tomlinson “made some ridiculous decisions, like refusing to let 1D perform at the Brit Awards because they wanted more time off… He even managed to convince Cowell to give him his own record label at Syco to keep him happy.”

The Louis Tomlinson/Harry Styles feud is in the news again this week after an insider allegedly revealed that the One Direction heartthrobs are still not on speaking terms, according to Perez Hilton.

Many outlets are now reporting that the band will not reunite.

Today new pictures have emerged showing that Simon and Louis are still close, and still very much in business together. Louis Tomlinson has made an appearance on the judging panel of America’s Got Talent.

Simon has told reporters before that he loves all the One Direction boys and is “particularly close” to Louis. The sassy Doncaster lad was reportedly chosen by Simon to be a reality judge because he is the most outspoken of the One Direction guys and would “not be afraid to tell someone they’re terrible.”

However, insiders reported that Louis Tomlinson had some very nice things to say today.

But has Louis’ alliance with Simon and the management arm at Syco come at a price? Could it have created tension with Louis’ bandmates?

The exact reason for Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson’s feud has never been revealed, but Dan Wootton did hint that Louis’ move to become the “business brains” of One Direction, consulting with Simon and his team about band issues, may have been a factor. This was previously explored by The Inquisitr.

Perhaps Harry was not on board with some of Louis’ decisions, and the friendship between the hunks suffered as a result.

Intriguingly, Wootton also mentioned the fact that Nick Grimshaw and Louis don’t get along:

And one of Harry’s closest mates, Radio 1 DJ and X Factor judge Nick Grimshaw, is also believed to have issues with Louis. The source said: “In the last two years, every decision Harry’s made is also with a thought about life after 1D and becoming a massive star in his own right.”

Nick is known to be one of Harry’s best friends. Louis and Nick have feuded publicly, and Louis’ ex-girlfriend Eleanor actually took to Twitter once to say she doesn’t like Nick Grimshaw.

Nick was briefly an X Factor judge, but was dropped from the panel after receiving “private criticism” from Simon. Wouldn’t it be amazing if Louis Tomlinson had used his influence with Simon to get Harry’s mate booted from the X Factor?
