Kim Kardashian Blasted As ‘Basic Tap Water’ By Angry Beyoncé Fans

Kim Kardashian is being described as “basic tap water” by angry Beyoncé fans claiming the reality star attempted to steal Beyoncé’s thunder during the release of her surprise visual album, Lemonade.

Hollywood Life is reporting that Beyoncé fans began using the hashtag #TapWater to show some serious shade at Kardashian on social media, suggesting that Kim is the “basic” free liquid while Beyoncé is the more expensive beverage, lemonade.

Social media users were quick to slam Kardashian using the hashtag and even created a mock-up of Beyoncé’s Lemonade album cover featuring the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star with the title “Tap Water.”

A slew of fans chimed in on the image on social media, blasting Kim Kardashian alongside the photo and clarifying exactly what the meme means.

Instagram user @julie_park posted the image on the photo sharing site on April 28, captioning the shot, “I am deaddddddd! Can’t breathe lol help!!! #TAPWATER for those that don’t get it… keyword,” while @ShawnteR clarified, “That meme of Kim K. Is saying that while Beyoncé is lemonade, Kim is just tap water, basic.”

“I just can’t, I dont know who did this but I love you!! #LEMONADE vs #TAPWATER,” @laura_labonte wrote on Twitter, while @TeamCurtains asked, “Who did this… So #Beyonce has #Lemonade & #KimKardashian has #TapWater.”

While Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian have so far stayed mum on the pretty scathing remarks a slew of social media users made alongside the tap water photos, the drama originally began when Beyoncé fans slammed Kim following the release of Lemonade on April 23.

Beyoncé fans took to social media to accuse Kardashian of stealing the “Formation” singer’s thunder during the airing of her revealing HBO documentary after Kim posting a slew of very sexually-charged photos on her official Instagram page while at a friend’s wedding with husband Kanye West.

According to Sugarscape, Beyoncé fans flooded Kim’s social media pages to accuse the reality star of attempting to steal the spotlight from Beyoncé after pointing out that Kim’s very sexy photos began appearing on her social media page just one minute before the Lemonade documentary began airing on HBO.

“[Kim Kardashian] is reaching tonight,” Twitter user @DanielleSacco wrote on the 140-character site of Kardashian’s Instagram feed. “Does she think she’s in competition with Beyoncé or…??? Because I can ASSUUUUUUURE YOU… Let me stop.”

Twitter user @tattedpoc also accused Kardashian of attempting to steal the spotlight from Beyoncé, writing, “[Kim Kardashian] has the nerve to try and be relevant while Beyoncé dropped her album. Giiiirl.”

However, Hollywood Life is claiming that Kardashian wasn’t actually looking to steal the spotlight with her racy social media snaps and supposedly didn’t even know that Beyoncé was dropping her surprise visual album and HBO piece that evening.

“Kim was just having a lot of fun at the wedding, it was a great time,” a source close to Kardashian alleged. “She was being goofy and enjoying the moment — she wasn’t thinking about anything else and honestly didn’t even realize Beyoncé dropped the album at the same time.”

Kardashian also appeared to deny that she was attempting to throw any shade Beyoncé’s way in the wake of the release of her visual album and documentary of the same name, taking to Instagram once again on April 27 to praise Beyoncé and her new music.

“Sipping’ on some Lemonade this morning,” Kim captioned a screen shot of Beyoncé she posted to her Instagram page earlier this week, adding the hashtags #BeyInYeezy and #WCW.

Do you think Kim Kardashian was attempting to steal Beyoncé’s spotlight during the release of Lemonade? What do you think of Beyoncé’s fans blasting Kim as being “tap water”?
