Anna Duggar As Josh Duggar Returns: ‘I Don’t Know What I’m Stepping Into’

Anna Duggar is understandably apprehensive about her husband Josh Duggar, who returned home this week from a faith-based rehab facility. Josh is allegedly battling sex and pornography addictions. Anna has forgiven Josh, and is seeking to put her family back together. She was very frank with People Magazine concerning her reservations about Josh.

“I don’t know what I’m stepping into. I don’t know how to handle each situation, It’s not anything I ever would have thought I would walk through.”

Anna spoke of walking, through, and it sounds like she is referring to Psalm 23. Does she feel she must fear no evil as she walks through what feels like the shadow of death? Could it really be that bad between Josh and Anna, or is she speaking of something more like spiritual warfare?

Anna Duggar, in reference to Josh Duggar and their reconciliation, told People Magazine she is taking life not one day at a time, but in 15-minute segments. Her internal dialogue sounds like she is fire walking, not just trying to get along with her husband.

“Just do the next right thing, have the next right response for the next 15 minutes.”

Anna Duggar is being a role model for the rest of the family, who are also working to forgive Josh Duggar. His two younger sisters were victims of his behaviors when they were all just teens. Jessa Duggar Seewald, star of Jill And Jessa: Counting On, recently downplayed the now-infamous Josh proclivities to Salon. The sense is that all of this has gotten blown out of proportion since their teenage report of their brother’s alleged assault on them.

“He made some bad choices, but really the extent of it was mild inappropriate touching on fully clothed victims. Most of it while girls were sleeping.”

The Duggar parents went by the book, and encouraged their daughters to report something that occurred between the children. While technically they handled the situation to the letter of the law, the family may have regretted their report in hindsight.

Anna Duggar, though, is also trying to forgive Josh Duggar for his Ashley Madison account. It may help Anna to know that Ashley Madison was a scam, and only 1,500 to 10,000 women ever created profiles on the site. Few of those actually used them. Only a small percentage of men ever actually used the site, either. Odds are that if Josh ever used his Ashley Madison account at all, and most account holders did not, he was speaking to employees of Ashley Madison the entire time. The Weekly Standard reports, the vast majority, literally millions of female Ashley Madison profiles, were written by hired content writers and played, like cyber-puppets, by various creative writers employed by the website. There were never any real affairs online, only men chatting with writers, many of which were probably male, and engaging in the conversation only for pay.

Anna Duggar and her husband must move forward in their relationship, for the sake of the children and the extended family as well. Also for the sake of fans of the family reality television show which is now called Jill and Jessa: Counting On. TLC has banned Josh Duggar from the show, but Anna is reportedly more than welcome to be in the spotlight. Anna’s popularity has soared in the wake of the scandal. Her handling of the situation is admired by many viewers who see her as a role model.

Anna Duggar will be on Jill and Jessa: Counting On, putting on a brave face for fans, no matter what the future holds for her family.
