Drake, Rihanna Split Despite Their Insane Chemistry — Is Rih Too Clingy?

Drake and Rihanna looked very much like a couple in their two new music videos for “Work.” Apparently, they were a couple for a short time, because sources are revealing that the two have split.

Fans assumed that Drake and Rihanna were dating after they were seen flirting and grinding on each other in both versions of Rih’s hit single “Work.” Don’t forget the pair’s steamy performance at the 2016 Brit Awards, which left many speechless, even Drake himself. However, new reports claim that the Canadian rapper has stopped seeing the Barbadian songstress.

Drake and Rihanna have decided to become “just friends,” according to a previous report on Celeb Dirty Laundry. Drake has since distanced himself from Rihanna since he has commitment phobia and she has an emotional attachment to him. They realized that they shouldn’t mix business with pleasure and decided to end both their personal and professional relationships.

The celebrity gossip site also revealed that Drake is also not ready to become a one-woman man. Instead, he ditched Rihanna so he could go back to his womanizing ways.

“Drake and Ri-Ri do have terrific chemistry,” another insider revealed to Heat magazine. “He is very attracted to her, but he knows with Rihanna it’s all or nothing, and he just can’t commit to her like that.”

While their relationship has come to a halt, Drake and Rihanna still plan on being good friends and partying with each other at celebrity hot spots. Heat magazine’s insider claims that Rih gets so attached that she will text Drake several times a day.

“He doesn’t want to give her the wrong idea. He knows that one hook-up with Ri means 25 phone calls and texts, and he’s just had enough of that. He doesn’t want to hurt her, but she is so not over him.”

Sources told Urban Islandz that Rihanna and Drake have been hooking up on the down-low. They want to keep their relationship a secret, even from their fans.

“They are definitely hooking up again but I guess they are keeping it out of the public eye. They always have chemistry and sometimes it just takes them to cross paths again to spark that fire. Plus a lot of her friends like Drake and see them as a great couple like a real power couple.”

Rihanna was previously linked to Travis Scott, who’s reportedly not happy about the news. The rapper took to Snapchat to hit back at Drizzy.

Scott shared a video of himself explicitly saying, “6God gotta work work more. F**k 6GOD. Bout to pull a Chris Brown on this n****. She wants the flame not emotional n****.”

Travis Scott and Rihanna started dating in summer of last year when he was helping produce her new album, ANTI. Although things between the two were never serious, Rihanna dumped the rapper in November after he became too attached to her. Sources tell Urban Islandz that he didn’t like what he saw in the “Work” video.

“He is just in his feelings about how close they have been getting but at the same time he and RiRi were not in a serious relationship, he is more like a friend zone guy that got lucky.”

Despite his issues with commitment, Drake has always had a crush on Rihanna. Back in 2014, he revealed to Rolling Stone magazine that she was his dream girl. The publication asked him if they would ever hook up, especially since they have incredible chemistry.

“She’s the ultimate fantasy. I mean, I think about it. Like, ‘Man, that would be good.’ We have fun together, she’s cool and s**t.”

Rihanna and Drake go way back to 2009, according to PopSugar. The two first kissed at the Lucky Strike bowling alley when Drake was an emerging rapper and was best known for his role of Jimmy on Degrassi. He then revealed to the New York Times that his relationship with Rihanna didn’t last. The two then collaborated on “What’s My Name?” in 2010 followed by their other hit, “Take Care,” in 2012.

Rihanna has been linked to several high-profile men over the years, including a serious relationship with R&B singer Chris Brown. During her February interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Rih revealed that she was single and that she’s not touring with Drake anytime soon, according to Billboard.
