Demi Lovato Receives Sentimental Gift From Kesha Following Taylor Swift Drama

Kesha is thanking Demi Lovato for her show of support with a very sentimental gift.

Lovato took to Snapchat to show off the sweet present Kesha sent to her earlier this week, posting a snap of a gold necklace in front of a handwritten note from the pop star.

Demi Lovato fan @ButeraDemetria posted a screenshot of Lovato’s Snapchat post on social media on February 29, which showed Demi holding a necklace emblazoned with the letter “S.”

“Kesha gave this to Demi,” @ButeraDemetria captioned the screenshots taken from Lovato’s Snapchat story. “This is so kind and thoughtful. I’m so happy [Demi and Kesha] keep in contact with each other.”

The screen capture featured a message from Demi which read “RIP Spawn… so f***ing thoughtful… thank you K!!” and also displayed the gold necklace in a box just above a handwritten note that confirmed the gift was from Kesha.

The “S” is thought to represent the first initial of Demi’s late dog Spawn, who passed away in December 2015.

Kesha’s sentimental gift to Demi comes just days after Lovato publicly supported Kesha following her recent court battle with producer Dr. Luke, who Kesha has claimed sexually abused her.

Lovato showed her support for Kesha after her plea to be released from her contract with Sony music was denied by a judge last month. Demi also appeared to call out Taylor Swift in the process after she donated $250,000 to help Kesha with her legal fees.

Demi initially showed her support for Kesha with a series of tweets on February 21 that state she was frustrated “to see women come forward with their past only to be shot down, not believed & disrespected for their bravery in taking action.”

“[It] happens way too often. I’m ready for women to be taken just as seriously as men,” Demi Lovato continued on the 140-character site, “someone tell me why anyone would ever feel brave enough to come forward if they are most likely to be ignored or called a liar?”

“Women empowerment is speaking up for other women even when it’s something uncomfortable to speak up about,” Lovato continued in part after Kesha’s legal case hit the headlines last month, adding that she’s “ready for self-proclaimed feminists to start speaking out or taking action for women’s rights.”

Just one day later, Demi Lovato appeared to take aim at Taylor Swift’s quarter of a million dollar donation to Kesha, controversially tweeting out “take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I’ll be impressed.”

After Swift’s fans slammed Lovato for her claims, Demi took to Instagram to defend her initial social media comments about Swift’s Kesha donation on Instagram.

“Not everyone has 250k to just give to people,” Demi wrote on the photo-sharing site, according to the Independent. “Would love to but I didn’t grow up with money and [definitely] haven’t made as much as [Taylor]. At least I speak up about s**t that’s uncomfortable to talk about rather than trying to be politically correct 24/7.”

Lovato then denied that there’s any kind of rivalry between her and Taylor before confessing that she just gives “more f**ks than other people” and added that she “would rather start a dialogue about women coming forward about being raped than throw money at one person.”

“I didn’t shade Taylor [Swift],” Demi Lovato continued in the Instagram post. “If you take it that way then fine. I’m just tired of seeing women use ‘women empowerment’ and ‘feminism’ to further brands without actually being the ones that have the uncomfortable conversations. I get shade and I don’t give a f**k because someone has to be the one to take it. At least I’m getting my hands dirty.”
