‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 6 Spoilers — New Photos Tease The Living And The Dead, Plus The Rebirth Of Jon Snow

The sixth season of Game of Thrones may only be a few months from premiering, but fans are still not any closer in learning the true fate of Jon Snow (Kit Harington). In the latest round of mysterious hints, producers released several different images of the Hall of Faces. With Jon being included in the gruesome collection of heads, the debate on whether or not he is alive remains unsolved.

According to CNN, HBO unveiled the image of Snow’s head in Black and White’s Hall of Faces on Twitter. The image is a part of a much bigger set of photos and did not include any sort of caption. Instead, fans were given a look at Jon’s head, eyes closed, and nothing else.

In the books, the Hall of Faces is located within House Black and White. Faces are placed inside the hall after death, which indicates that Jon died at the end of last season. However, to throw a wrench into that reasoning, producers also included an image of Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) in Hall of Faces. Neither character has died in the television series, which definitely bodes well for Jon’s fate next season.

For those fans that believe Jon will be resurrected in the new season, Jon’s inclusion in the Hall of Faces doesn’t necessarily mean he is dead for good. After all, the posters tease both the living and the dead. Does this mean there is a good chance that Jon will be brought back to life in Season 6?

Unfortunately, the posters did not reveal any spoilers concerning Jon’s ultimate fate. At this point, fans will likely have to wait until the new season premieres before the truth of the matter is finally settled for good.

Meanwhile, Jon’s face was only one of the posters that were released this past week. According to Variety, HBO released a total of 16 different posters. This includes an image of Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), who escaped Winterfell at the end of Season 5 with the help of Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen).

In her escape from Winterfell, Sansa was forced to jump off the battlements, leaving fans uncertain about her future. Although it is safe to assume that Sansa survived the jump, the fact that the posters included her face coincides with the unknown territory the series is venturing into this season.

In fact, Season 6 is the first season of Game of Thrones not based directly off one of George R. R. Martin’s books. The fifth book in the bestselling series is the last one Martin published, though he is currently working on the sixth book. This is one reason behind the posters, which playfully tease fans about which characters are dead and which ones are living.

Other characters featured in the recent release include the likes of Oberyn Martell (Pedro Pascal), Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), and Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). At the same time, the images were also featured in the most recent trailer for the upcoming season, which included a creepy voiceover by each of the characters that have passed.

In addition to mystifying fans about the fate of certain characters, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the posters are also an indication of a possible storyline in the new season. Specifically, this involves Bran Stark’s (Issac Hempstead Wright) visions as serving as a method for the show to dive into its complex history leading up to Season 6.

Whatever the purpose behind the posters, fans are still left wondering about the fate of Jon Snow.

The sixth season of HBO’s Games of Thrones is set to premiere on April 24.
