‘Destiny’: Xur’s Exotic Goods For Feb. 19, Claws Of Ahamkara And Skyburners Annex Return

It’s Friday once again in Destiny, which means Xûr has deigned to grace the Tower with his presence. PlayStation and Xbox players looking forward to the weekly foray into the Agent of the Nine’s Exotic inventory have some specialized pieces to look forward to for their Titan, Hunter, or Warlock. Unfortunately, there is no weapon this week, but there is an Exotic Helmet Engram for players to roll their luck with.

This weekend, Xûr can be found across from the Speaker in the Tower North. Simply head to the left when you first spawn in the Tower, and you’ll find him standing in front of a large, round door across from the speaker’s entrance. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.

The Taikonaut

Destiny The Taikonaut Exotic Titan Helmet (PlayStation, Xbox)

This Titan Exotic Helmet is all about perks for Heavy Weapons and Rocket Launchers, in particular. The intrinsic “Air Traffic Control” perk actually gives three perks. All Rocket Launchers gain tracking, radar will stay up while aiming using a Heavy Weapon, and Heavy Weapon ammo drops more often. This is best combined with Rocket Launchers that have a “Javelin” and/or “Grenades & Horseshoes” perk. Just note that the tracking perk is currently bugged and will disable tracking for Rocket Launchers that already have it.

The Taikonaut also comes with the choice between “Ashes to Asset” for bonus Super Energy from grenade kills, or “Heavy Lifting” for bonus Super energy from Heavy Weapon kills. The final column perk is “Invigoration” for bonus melee energy on Orb pickup.

The split 50 Intellect and 49 Discipline roll is excellent for this helmet. “Better Already” or “Infusion” would make better final column perks with the choice of “Inverse Shadow” in the third column. Consider a re-roll using the Glass Needles if you pick this up, but its best used when paired with boots that carry extra Heavy Weapon or Rocket Launcher ammo.

Skyburners Annex

The Skyburners Annex helm will turn Hunters into everyone’s best friend. The intrinsic “Versatile Shooter” perk generates extra Orbs of Light with a chance to receive extra Special Weapon ammo when picking up Orbs. The Nightstalker subclass is already a prolific Orbs of Light generator and there’s a chance to create up to 50 percent more with this helmet on.

The optional perks are “Ashes to Asset” for extra Super energy from grenade kills and “Heavy Lifting” for extra Super energy from Heavy Weapon kills. There is also the “Better Already” perk for instant shield recovery on Orb pickup.

The pure 81 Intellect roll is great for Hunters seeking to boost their Super ability regeneration. Destiny players might want to go for “Inverse Shadow” for the third column, however, on a reroll.

Claws of Ahamkara

“The Whispers” perk gives Warlocks an additional melee charge, which is a nice bonus since this Exotic piece will work with any of the three Warlock sub-classes.

The optional perks give a choice between “Snap Discharge” to increase melee attack speed or “Momentum Transfer” to give bonus melee energy on grenade hits. There’s also a choice between increased reload speeds for Auto Rifles or Sniper Rifles, which is handy for those who prefer the two weapon types.

The Warlock melee is still formidable in Destiny, so you might want to try to use the Glass Needles to get a better stat roll. The 45 Discipline/44 Strength stat roll is decent depending on the rest of your Guardian’s loadout
