Metal Gear Solid 4 Will Soon Be Getting Trophy Support

Fans have been asking for trophy support for Metal Gear Solid 4 for years now, but it looked like it would never happening. Surprisingly, it is happening, and that’s not even the extent of the good news.

Andriasang reports that Metal Gear Solid 4 will be getting a patch sometime around August that adds on the oft-requested trophy support. Additionally, Japan will be getting a “The Best” version of the game around the same time, which has a “full install” option for those of you who would rather get the installation out of the way before you play.

Unfortunately, it isn’t known at this point whether or not the “full install” feature will be added in along with the Metal Gear Solid 4 trophy patch. On the bright side, Konami confirmed that the patch will be coming to the West as well, and there was even a hint that we might be getting the same re-release that Japan will be getting.

In related Metal Gear Solid news, Konami will be holding a 25th anniversary event in Tokyo on August 30, and it’s expected that series creator Hideo Kojima might have an announcement or two to make. What that will be is anyone’s guess at this point, though.

Is trophy support enough to get you to play through Metal Gear Solid 4 again?
