Mariah Carey And James Packer Lease New House In Calabasas ‘Kardashian Land’

When billionaire James Packer decides to get engaged, he doesn’t waste any time! The super-rich Australian businessman has already made sure to provide an incredible home where he and his fiancee, pop superstar Mariah Carey, can start enjoying their new life together. Packer and Carey announced their engagement last week, and now the Daily Mail reports that James has leased a luxury home for Mariah.

James, Mariah, and Mariah’s twins, Monroe and Moroccan, are planning to move there soon to live together “as a family” now that the engagement is official.

Packer, whose net worth is more than most people can even imagine, is spending a mint on his engagement to Carey. First, James popped the question with an enormous $10 million ring that outshone and outweighed Beyonce and Kim Kardashian’s rings put together. The 35-carat gem replaced Elizabeth Taylor’s diamond ring as the biggest engagement ring ever and covered Mariah’s ring finger from knuckle to knuckle.

Now, James and Mariah are the proud new owners of a lease for a “lavish home” in the “exclusive” and wildly-expensive enclave of the Oaks, in Calabasas, California. Just the bare facts about James and Mariah’s new house are enough to make anyone drool. The fabulous house boasts 18,000 square feet of living space and is situated on one acre of beautifully tended land. The rent for a billionaire like Packer is pocket change at an “astonishing” $250,000 a month.

The agent responsible for leasing the luxury house to the engaged couple, Emil Hartoonian, spoke with the Daily Mail about James and Mariah’s choice of home. Hartoonian explained that for James and Mariah, the most important feature of the property was the promise of privacy.

“It’s in a double-gated community and they are behind the second set of gates so there’s a double layer of security.”

Packer is also concerned about Carey’s children and wanted to make sure that the house they leased would be in a family-friendly environment since Mariah has her children “full-time.” Hartoonian described Packer’s house and neighborhood in a way that leaves no doubt that it was a perfect choice.

“It’s a beautiful place to live and raise a family. It’s one of the very, very few homes to meet their criteria.”

The house itself is impressive and includes “a mega movie theatre, a gym and a spa,” along with all the usual house amenities. The house, which took five years to build, is made from imported Italian stone and has “never been on the market.” James and Mariah will also be able to enjoy “incredible city views,” and they’ll have easy access to the nearby Pacific Ocean.

Mariah, 45, and James, 47, can look forward to some interesting neighbors in what TMZ describes as a “fancy gated community.” There are lots of “famous entertainers” and wealthy business executives, but KUWTK fans will be most interested in the very famous reality TV family. The stars of Keeping Up with the Kardashians live nearby!

The only problem with Packer’s house is the legal struggle that both Mariah and James have yet to untangle. Although Packer and Carey are engaged, the couple are both still married to exes. Since they are leasing the house with an option to purchase, it’s to be hoped that the divorce legalities work themselves out quickly so that James and Mariah can end their engagement by getting married before the lease runs out!
