Demi Lovato Let ‘Em Go: Singer Bids Emotional Farewell To Loved Ones She Lost In 2015

Demi Lovato had a pretty rough 2015. As great as the year might have been for the Let It Go singer in terms of her career, it was equally heartbreaking on the personal front.

Lovato, who performed at Times Square for New Year’s Rockin’ Eve last night, bid an emotional farewell to a number of loved ones she lost in 2015. Those included her great-grandfather, whom she affectionately called “Papa”, her buddy and former lead singer of The Prom Kings Chris Carney, her Uncle Billy, and two of her precious “fur babies”.

Although Demi Lovato had previously paid personalized tributes to each one of them separately at different times of the year, she took to Instagram yesterday to bid a final goodbye to all those who mattered deeply to the Confident singer. Sweet as it was, the collage she posted on her Instagram page was also her personal 2015 in memoriam salute to ones who enriched the 23-year-old’s life along the way.

Uploading the picture as an act of remembrance, Demi Lovato also wrote that having to deal with multiple losses in 2015 has made her much stronger.

“2015. As incredible as this year was.. This year was also extremely rough. Filled with some of the highest highs, I experienced some of the lowest lows. I said hello to a lot of amazing experiences and said goodbye to many that I love but everything happens for a reason and my skin got a lot thicker this year. I learned that no matter how painful things can be, things do get easier and time really does help heal all wounds.”

I’m hoping that 2016 will be a bit lighter with more hellos and less goodbyes but whatever next year brings I know I’m stronger than I was a year ago.”

Demi Lovato implored her fans, who took warmly to her moving tribute, to cherish their loved ones and avoid negativity as they head into the New Year.

“Cherish the moments you have with your friends and family, take too many pictures and always find the humor in things. Life’s too short for negativity and drama. Spread love, not hate and most importantly be grateful.”

Meanwhile, as Daily Mail reports, Demi Lovato appeared to have taken the advice she shared with her fans to her heart as she sang to a spellbound New York audience at Times Square for Dick Clark’s “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”

Sporting a beaded and see-through black body suit and lavish fur coat, Demi braved the winter chill to deliver a mind-blowing performance in front of thousands of cheering fans. Although Lovato performed her previous numbers as well, the “Let It Go” singer engrossed her fans as she belted out her seasonal anthem “Cool For The Summer” and “Confident” with amazing panache.

Demi Lovato seems to be gaining confidence with each performance that she delivers, and why wouldn’t she when 2015 has been such a wonderful year — on the musical front at least.

She also shared a picture of the event soon after the performance ended, wishing everyone a “Happy New Year.”

Demi Lovato hopes 2016 will be an even better year for her. If the singer continues to perform and sing the way she has through most of 2015, there is little doubting that the Let It Go singer will be one of the stars to look out for during the next twelve months!
