Ariana Grande Cancels Abu Dhabi Concert And Three Other Appearances

On Thursday, December 3, Ariana Grande was set to perform a concert in Abu Dhabi. However, to the chagrin of fans in the area, two days before the show, Grande announced it would be canceled.

There has been very little said about her decision not to attend, but it’s not the only show she’s canceled during her “Honeymoon Tour.” All four of her December concert dates have been called off. This means canceling her London performance this weekend and two of her shows in Japan next week.

A representative explained that the pop star is “not able to travel” to these locations at this time. All tickets will, of course, be refunded.

Grande also shared the bad news via Twitter, stating, “Babies, I’m so sad I won’t be able to make it abroad this December but I can’t wait to see u & reschedule for next year. I love you so much.”

These cancellations don’t look good for the pop singer’s image. She has already been called “lazy” by United Kingdom talk show host Jonathan Ross because she never showed up at the London studio to appear on his show.

When she didn’t arrive, Ross told disappointed fans, “Ariana is in town. We were told she would be in the car at 6pm to be here for 7pm then it got to 7pm and she was not in the car – 7.30pm and she is still not in the car. So I don’t think we can hold out much hope. I don’t know what it is. We are going to give Ariana the benefit of the doubt and not say anything mean or judgmental. I apologise to anyone who might have come along hoping to see her… She was booked but the lazy little brat has not come. Maybe she has gone to her first [fast-food joint] Nandos.”

At 22-years-old, Grande is still very young to be handling all of this fame. She has been singing since she was 13-years-old in Broadway musicals and Nickelodeon television series. That’s a lot of attention to swallow for such a young star, and the attention may have gone to her head.

But even with her missed appearances and cancelled tours, she’s still very popular, especially among teenagers. Grande sat down with Teen Vogue to share some of her holiday shopping secrets. This special was an instant hit among teen girls.

Her tips included the following.

  1. Shop where — and when — you can.
  2. Always have a go-to hostess gift on hand.
  3. Include your pets in the fun.
  4. Never underestimate the gift of time.
  5. You can’t go wrong with a great fragrance.
  6. Be discreet.
  7. Don’t take the whole process too seriously.

Each of these tips was accompanied with a specific quote from the singer. Her fourth tip was particularly thoughtful.

She stated, “No gift is worth more than the experience of spending time with your loved ones — a day with my family is at the top of my own list this year. When it comes to my friends, though, I like to give them a spa day we can share together.”

She also included a shameless plug in her fifth tip for her very first fragrance, Ari, which just hit stores.

“I’m giving my Ari perfume to almost all my friends and family members this holiday. I have been part of the whole process — from the scent, to the carton, to the campaign — and absolutely love it! Everyone’s who’s smelled it does, too, which makes me happy and proud.”

This holiday season, Ariana Grande may have canceled four of her shows on the “Honeymoon Tour,” but at least she’s still providing some entertainment for her biggest fans.
