Is Jana Duggar Tim Tebow’s Perfect Rebound After Olivia Culpo Split? Or Is He Missing Too Many Heart Pieces?
Some Jana Duggar fans are probably thrilled that Tim Tebow and Olivia Culpo have called it quits — now there’s a tiny chance that Jana and the former NFL quarterback will make these fans’ fundamentalist Christian fantasies come true by entering into a courtship chaperoned by a TLC camera crew. Jana & Tim: Counting on a Touchdown would probably be a huge ratings success, and Jana Duggar and Tim Tebow do have a lot in common.
Every time 25-year-old Jana Duggar pops up in a Duggar family photo, fans of the family start speculating about her love life (or lack thereof). The oldest Duggar daughter has watched younger sisters Jill and Jessa get married and have kids, and many Duggar fans assume that she’s been wistfully waiting for the day when her father, Jim Bob Duggar, finds God’s match for her (he’s the family’s Christian Mingle). After Jessa Duggar shared the photo below, it immediately sparked a conversation about Jana’s love life.
“I wish Jana could find love!!” Alicia Jasper wrote.
“She could if daddy would let go of her. He picked the husbands for the other girls but needs her for a babysitter,” Cheryl Malone Justice responded.
As Radar Online recently reported, there are rumors that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar want to keep Jana at home because they need her to help babysit, cook, clean, and homeschool her younger siblings.
In response to Jessa Duggar’s Facebook post, there were the usual comments about “God’s timing,” a debate about how involved Jim Bob really is in his daughters’ love lives, and a few reassurances about how Jana is only 25 and has plenty of time to find someone to settle down with. And, as luck would have it, Tim Tebow just became available.
According to the New York Daily News, Tim Tebow’s conservative Christian values ended up being a turn-off for former Miss USA Olivia Culpo. A source claimed that Culpo dumped Tebow after two months of dating because he wouldn’t have sex with her. Tim Tebow has vowed to remain abstinent until marriage, and Olivia Culpo simply doesn’t share his views.
“She had to break up with him because she just couldn’t handle it,” a source revealed. “He still hits her up, but she just can’t deal with the sex thing. He’s pretty adamant about it, I guess.”
The New York Daily News claims that it’s also possible that Tim Tebow’s virginity vow played a part in his 2009 split from actress Camilla Belle.
If Tebow is looking for a lady who shares his view on abstinence, maybe he should consider giving Jana Duggar a call — the older Duggar daughters all made similar virginity vows on 19 Kids and Counting. In fact, they revealed that their courtship rules are so strict that they don’t hold hands until they get engaged or kiss their husbands until their wedding days.
According to E! News, rumors of a potential romance between Jana Duggar and Tim Tebow surfaced late last year after Tebow’s mom met Jana’s parents at a Loving Choices Pregnancy Centers fundraiser. Duggar fans loved the idea of the NFL star courting the reality show star, but a rep for Tebow quickly shot the romance rumors down. According to the rep, Tebow had never even met Jana Duggar.
However, some members of the Duggar family love the idea of Tim Tebow courting Jana Duggar. Jessa Duggar’s husband, Ben Seewald, told People magazine that Tebow would be “a great addition to the family.”
The Duggars do love football, and they share Tebow’s conservative values. However, there are a few potential problems with a Jana/Tim courtship. For one thing, the former quarterback seems to go for girls who are a little more glamorous than the Duggars — his main love interests have been an actress and a beauty queen. He obviously doesn’t share the family’s views when it comes to women dressing modestly because Olivia Culpo has worn bikinis on live TV. It’s also possible that Tebow is turned off by the Josh Duggar sexual molestation scandal that is haunting Jana’s parents.
Or maybe the Duggars would actually be the ones to nix the idea of a Tim Tebow/Jana Duggar romance — they might find the football player’s romantic past a bit problematic. The Duggars have spoken out against the dangers of modern-day dating by claiming that girls and guys give away pieces of their hearts every time they go out with a new person. Life is like a Legend of Zelda game for the Duggars — they want to hold on to those heart pieces.
During the 17 Kids and Counting episode “Josh Gets Engaged,” Josh Duggar explained why his family is against dating.
“You have your whole heart when you’re a young person, and when you date, you’re giving pieces of your heart away to different people,” Josh Duggar explained. “And so when you finally find that one, it’s like, ‘Oh, here’s what I have.’ But you don’t have your whole heart — you’ve given part of it away. And what I wanted to do was save my whole heart for the one that God would have for me in marriage.”
However, Josh Duggar later proved that this line of thinking doesn’t result in a perfect marriage — he simply waited until he was married to give away pieces of his heart to other people.
