WWE Rumors: Brock Lesnar’s Return Date To WWE Television Now Known

WWE is dealing with an extreme loss of talent due to injuries, requested time off, and the limited schedules of top stars. Fans around the world are awaiting the comeback of one of the most popular stars to ever step foot in a WWE ring, and now the return date of Brock Lesnar may now be known and it’s a good thing that the Slammys are not that far off.

Everyone was expecting Brock Lesnar to be back sometime before the Royal Rumble in January so that a program and feud could be built for WrestleMania 32. Well, with all of the talent loss for WWE and the dropping ratings, Lesnar’s contract was recently renegotiated and some more dates were added for more money.

Lesnar is scheduled for the WWE Live Event on Dec. 19 at The Forum in Inglewood, CA, but it’s a non-televised event. Now, it could end up being turned into a live WWE Network special, but that has yet to be announced or confirmed.

Well, now it seems as if Lesnar’s WWE television return is known, and it’s right after that event in California.

24 Wrestling is reporting that while it hasn’t been officially announced, Brock Lesnar is likely going to return on the December 21 edition of Monday Night Raw. That is the night that is going to be themed around the Slammy Awards as well.

This actually makes sense for a number of reasons and really does seem like a true possibility given what is already known about the return and future schedule of the “Beast Incarnate.”

TLC is set to take place on Dec. 13, and that pay-per-view will be done, out of the way, and over by the time the Slammy episode of Raw comes around. New feuds will begin and the build-up for Royal Rumble will officially start.

Lesnar is expected to be at the Royal Rumble and take part in it in some way. It isn’t known if he will have a singles match or whether he’ll be in the rumble match itself, but he is due to work the PPV for WWE.

Lesnar is going to be working the Live Event two days before and officially back on tour with WWE so it makes sense that he should show up on Raw.

Not just all mentioned above, but Lesnar was recently added to a big Monday Night Raw in January. The first is on Jan. 11 in New Orleans, Louisiana. It’s the second-to-last Raw before the Royal Rumble and could essentially be the go-home push for at least Lesnar’s feud.

WWE really wants to get Brock Lesnar back on television as quickly as humanly possible and especially by the time the Royal Rumble arrives. As revealed by Forbes, Lesnar has a huge impact on the buys for pay-per-views, and the numbers certainly don’t lie.

  • Royal Rumble – 145,000 buys
  • Fast Lane – 46,000 buys
  • WM31 – 259,000 buys
  • Extreme Rules – 56,000 buys
  • Payback – 57,000 buys
  • Money In The Bank – 57,000 buys
  • Battleground – 80,000 buys
  • Summerslam – 121,000 buys
  • Night of Champions – 77,000 buys
  • Hell in a Cell – 87,000 buys

Those are the PPV buys for 2015, and you can see which has the most and which has the least. The five highest buys are all events that had one big thing in common, and that happens to be none other than Brock Lesnar.

Each of those five events had Lesnar in main event matches, while shows such as Fast Lane, Payback, Night of Champions, and Extreme Rules all did fewer buys and didn’t have Lesnar on them at all.

The return of Brock Lesnar is one that fans want badly and one that WWE needs horribly. His presence brings in viewers and makes fans more excited, and now we know when he is likely to be back on television. Never have fans looked more forward to the Slammy Awards episode of Monday Night Raw than they will this year.
