‘The Flash’/’Arrow’ Crossover And ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’: New Details, And Will Constantine Join?

The Flash and Arrow have been the quintessential comic book adaptation TV shows that have truly launched the current revolution on all networks, with Legends of Tomorrow being the next installment in the concept that is shaping the DC TV universe. Even though Constantine failed on NBC, Arrow managed to integrate him. Cinema Blend reports that DC’s most popular, trenchcoat-wearing mage had a lasting impact on the Arrow for future episodes. By the way, there will be spoilers ahead. So, fair warning.

For those who have seen the Arrow season 4 episode Haunted, they know that John Constantine gave Green Arrow a parting gift of a mysterious, magical tattoo. Arrow executive producer Wendy Mericle was more than a tad cryptic, but did say the time is coming when it will become useful, and a mild description on what the circumstances on a future Arrow season 4 episode it will happen.

“It’s going to help Oliver when he’s in a very dark place and time when he has no other way out. It’s going to be the thing that pulls him out of a very dark spot and literally saves him.”

Besides Constantine’s effect on the future of Arrow, he might soon find himself around The Flash, and some other DC Comics characters on the CW as well. According to Uproxx, Constantine is rumored to be heading to CW/DC’s TV incarnation Legends of Tomorrow, which is said to possibly be popping up in January 2016. The report continues to explain that the CW is looking to make Legends of Tomorrow have a rotating, seasonal cast, much like the DC Comics cartoon Justice League Unlimited.

Constantine fans were hopeful for the possibility, as their second petition on Change.org is closing in on 75,000 signatures, it would appear the fans might make it happen.

These are not the only Arrow, The Flash, and other related items that could end up happening with Legends of Tomorrow. Other snippets and clips of the The Flash/Arrow crossover, and Legends of Tomorrow launchpad episodes, have surfaced like this one in New Zealand. One major development that has shown up in virtually every The Flash/Arrow crossover clip has been the appearance of Vandal Savage, Hawkman, and Hawkgirl within those two joined episodes.

Comicbook reports that a total of nine comic book superheroes will appear within the two-part crossover, as per Stephen Amell.

“We shot a scene that had, like, nine superheroes in it. Nine people with either powers or super-suits. It was an amazing thing to look out over the scene and see the world that has been built over the course of three-plus years.”

A screenshot from one of The Flash/Arrow crossover trailers only shows seven characters, if you include Diggle. The Flash/Arrow crossover has Speedy, Green Arrow, The Flash, Black Canary Hawkgirl, and Hawkman in it, plus a possible three other characters. No speculations as to who the mystery characters are, but it certainly turns the excitement dial up a few notches for fans of The Flash and Arrow, not to mention the potential Legends of Tomorrow characters not aforementioned for these crossover episodes.

Then there is the Green Arrow caveat that has plagued enough of the comic book reading, and CW’s Arrow watching, crowd to once fluster Stephen Amell as a question. When will the Green Arrow receive his signature goatee? Earlier this year, the Green Arrow himself denounced the possibility in tweet, but has since seemingly retracted that statement.

“Proud to say it only took 3-ish months to make myself look like a total idiot. The point being… You want to avoid the term “that will NEVER happen” under any and all circumstances.”

This has led many to speculate that the Green Arrow could be sporting his signature facial hair in Legends of Tomorrow with a future Oliver Queen wearing it.
