Scott Kelly UFO: Did He Tweet An Alien Photo?

Did Scott Kelly tweet a photo of a UFO from the ISS? That’s what the world is asking following a recent tweet sent out by Kelly, who recently broke the U.S. record for most days spent in space. Fox News reports that the astronaut generated a lot of buzz with his recent photographed, which he tweeted from the International Space Station. According to UFO buffs and conspiracy theorists on social media and YouTube, the there is definitely something unidentified in the upper right-hand corner of the pic snapped by Scott Kelly.

While Fox 2 reports that NASA has yet to respond to there query as to what exactly the mystery UFO in Scott Kelly’s photo, which was taken on November 15, could be, internet speculation has been rampant.

The International Space Station was in orbit roughly over India when the photograph showing the suspected UFO was taken and subsequently tweeted by Scott Kelly. The image, which shows the lights of Southern India shining below the horizon of the earth, with the suspected UFO hovering in the upper right corner, has been highly scrutinized since it was shared on Twitter. Believers see a cigar-shaped UFO, one of the most common UFO types reported by Ufologists and those who claim to have encountered the craft.

CBS News got in touch with renowned physicist Michio Kaku to investigate the image. Kaku was highly skeptical that the photo shared by Scott Kelly had captured an image of an elusive UFO, and he responded to the the situation rather lightheartedly.

“Well, I tell my friends who claim to be abducted by a flying saucer, ‘If you’re in a flying saucer, steal something. I don’t care what it is, a pen, a paperweight, anything, so you have bragging rights after you leave the flying saucer, otherwise, you’re empty-handed.”

Presumably, Dr. Kaku thinks more evidence than a still photo of a UFO is required to prove their existence, even if the photo is shared (unwittingly) by Scott Kelly. Michio Kaku’s explanation for the UFO in the tweet? Most likely a smudge.

There are quite a few people who think that Kelly may have shared with the world a glimpse of a UFO, among them Scott Waring, who edits a prominent UFO blog called UFO Sightings Daily. Scott Waring truly believes that not only did Scott Kelly take a photo of a UFO, he shared the picture with a deliberate intent to let the world know about the existence of intelligent life beyond earth.

“Scott Kelly likes to send out photos of the view from the windows of the space station…and they look cool. This one however has a cigar shaped glowing UFO with a metallic body in it. The UFO is about 25 meters long and 150-200 meters away. It looks like Scott was trying to hint at the existence of aliens. Message received Scott, and thanks.”

While the world of UFO hunters see a soft disclosure of aliens in the tweet sent out by Scott Kelly, non-believers have a much more earthly explanation of the pixelated anomaly found in his photo. NJ reports that there is a lot of credible evidence that the Scott Kelly UFO is nothing more than part of the ISS, captured in the photograph, illuminated by the light of the International Space Station or the camera’s flash.

With the image captured and shared by Scott Kelly circulating the internet, it seems likely that the debate over what he truly captured hovering outside of the International Space Station will continue to rage on. In fact, it seems similar to the blue dress/gold dress controversy that took the world by storm a few months ago. People who want to see a UFO will see one, and it will be difficult to convince them that Scott Kelly didn’t deliberately share a photo of intelligent alien life buzzing the ISS. People who want to see HDEV equipment will see that, too. As long as it remains unidentified, it will technically remain the Scott Kelly UFO.

What do you think it is? Did astronaut Kelly get a piece of the International Space Station in his shot? Is it just some kind of smudge, like Dr. Michio Kaku suggested? Or did the world really get tweeted a photograph of a cigar shaped UFO, courtesy of Scott Kelly.
