Watch: Demi Lovato Covers ‘Hello’ by Adele

Demi Lovato is the latest of several music stars to be taped doing their take on Adele’s smash single “Hello,” and people can’t seem to get enough of it.

As Perez Hilton noted, it’s becoming a trend to cover “Hello,” as Demi Lovato follows in the footsteps of performers like Joe Jonas and the R&B legend Joe. Rapper Rick Ross did his own remix as well.

Several versions of the Lovato cover are already all over YouTube, but none of them are professionally polished like the two aforementioned Joe covers. Still, even with lower quality recording, Demi’s powerful rendition of the heart-wrenching song comes through loud and clear.

As Rolling Stone reported, the video of Lovato covering “Hello” was heard by fans at Seattle’s Kiss FM Fall Ball festival last night. Lovato headlined the event, with support from such acts as Andy Grammer, Omi, and R City.

And not only did the fans in attendance love the performance — so did a lot of fans on Twitter.

And of course, there were Twitter haters.

This video was unleashed on YouTube less than a week before Adele’s album 25 debuts. It will be her third full-length album, following 19 and 21 — the albums being named after the age of the singer when the album was released. There has been a lot of anticipation for this album, and the release of “Hello” has fans even more anxious. When the song was first released, countless celebrities took to Twitter and Instagram to sing their praises. “Hello” is the only single to have been released from the album, which will be released in the United States on Friday, November 20.

In October, Demi Lovato performed on the iconic SNL to rave reviews. Adele had her own shot to go “live from New York” on a Saturday night after the release of her first album, 19, back in 2008, nearly seven years to the day.

Through mid-December, Lovato will be playing several big radio holidays shows and festivals. As much as her fans seem to love this cover, you’ve got to wonder if she’ll be playing it at the rest of the events she’s playing, similar to this gig in Seattle. On December 11, Demi will be awarded the inaugural “Rulebreaker Award” at Billboard’s Women in Music event in New York. She’ll be promoting the album Confident, which dropped on October 16 and featured the eponymous single and “Cool for the Summer” — a song very unlike Adele’s “Hello.”

In 2016, Demi will embark on the “Future Now Tour” with Nick Jonas. They’ll be hitting more than 40 cities across North America on the arena tour. As verified by Billboard, the tour begins on June 24 in Sunrise, Florida, and ends in September in Los Angeles. We already know that Joe does a solid cover of “Hello.” Maybe Demi and Nick can make a duet out of it. There has been no word that a new Lovato album will drop before the summer tour begins.
