Pastor’s Wife Invasion Suspect Caught On Surveillance Camera: Police Release Details Of Amanda Blackburn Murder Suspect

The pastor’s wife invasion suspect was caught on surveillance cameras on more than one street near the Davey and Amanda Blackburn home. The man accused of shooting the 28-year-old pregnant mother is black and wore a two-toned hoodie with light colored pants, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

During a press conference about the Amanda Blackburn murder, police Captain Craig Converse said the suspect is believed to be between 5 feet, 4 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches, Fox News reports. The captain also stated that the suspect had tried to pull his hood over his face when walking near the surveillance cameras. A photo of the suspect will be released to the public “in the near future.” The identity of the possible murder suspect reportedly remains unknown to the police.

The home invasion suspect believed to have murdered Amanda Blackburn was robbing a home two doors down from the residence of the pastor’s wife. The unidentified black male jumped on an opportunity to rob the Blackburn home after seeing Davey drive away from the house early Tuesday morning, police investigators believe. Several neighbors had noticed a suspicious man in the neighborhood and had called the police to report his presence.

Amanda Blackburn was shot inside the first floor of the home while her 15-month-old son, Weston, was upstairs in his crib. Davey Blackburn found his wife lying unconscious on the floor after returning from his workout at a local gym.

Indianapolis Police Chief Richard Hite referred to the killing of the pastor’s wife as a “heinous murder.” Police investigators are not ruling out that possibility that there could be multiple suspects in the burglaries.

“It wasn’t a typical home invasion,” Chief Hite said when adding that there was no forced entry in the home of Pastor Davy Blackburn.

Indianapolis Police Major Eric Hench issued a warning to the home invasion suspect, “You left behind evidence, we will find you, and we will not stop until we get you.”

The Indiana county coroner who reviewed the body of Amanda Blackburn revealed the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head. Pastor Davey Blackburn was quickly ruled out as a suspect in the murder case by police.

“I cannot thank you enough for the unbelievable outpouring of love that you have shared with my family over the past few days,” the pastor posted on the Resonate Church Facebook page Friday, NBC News reports. “We are going to have church this Sunday, just like we always do. We are going to worship, share the gospel through sharing Amanda’s story, laugh together and cry together.”

Amanda, who was 12 weeks pregnant with the couple’s second child, was also the daughter of a pastor. The family moved from South Carolina to Indiana in 2012 to start the Resonate Church.

Amanda Blackburn died after being shot in the head while protecting her baby. The pastor’s wife was shot in the during an Indianapolis home invasion on Tuesday. The 28-year-old mother, the pregnant wife of the Pastor Davey Blackburn, was pronounced dead two days later after being transported to a local hospital.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Pastor Davey Blackburn and his Resonate Church congregation have been left in shock and are mourning the tragic loss of Amanda. After being taken off life support, the pastor donated his wife’s organs to help others.
