Missouri Teens Accused Of Joyriding With Woman’s Corpse After Stabbing Her To Death

A Missouri woman is dead and two eight grade boys are accused of committing a horrible act of violence against her. The Dreamin’ Demon reports that 43-year-old Tanya Chamberlain was brutally stabbed to death, and the apparent motive surrounding her death is astounding.

The two suspects in this horrific crime are two teenage boys, aged 13 and 14 years old. The two Missouri eighth graders have not yet been named in media reports, but it’s been confirmed that they are both students at Bernard C. Campbell Middle School — which they had attended on the very same day that they are accused of killing the Lee’s Summit mom.

Court documents reveal that the incident took place on November 1 at a car wash between approximately 1:14 a.m., and 1:51 a.m. KSLA News reports that surveillance footage at the business shows the 43-year-old woman vacuuming her car while the two eighth grade boys climbed into the vehicle as she was vacuuming the front seat. Unfortunately, because it was daylight saving’s time, the security cameras rebooted around this time, so nothing more was seen of the incident. When the video rebooted, the car was no longer parked at the car wash and all three persons involved in this heartbreaking case were nowhere in sight.

At approximately 2:00 a.m., the same night, authorities in Kansas City pulled over Tanya Chamberlain’s vehicle, believing that the person driving it may have been under the influence of alcohol. However, when the car pulled into an apartment complex, two teenage boys fled from the vehicle on foot. It was then that the police officer discovered the murdered body of the Missouri mom. The 43-year-old woman was reportedly propped up in the front passenger seat of the vehicle, and had clearly suffered from numerous stab wounds to her neck, arms, head, chest, and hands. In the backseat of the car laid a knife, which was splattered with blood and had some of the woman’s hair on it.

Authorities released the security tape footage in hopes of identifying the two teenage boys, which was a successful endeavor. More than one person recognized the two youths shown on the footage, and police were notified of the potential identities of the 13- and 14-year-old boys. When authorities questioned the two boys, both of them began pointing fingers at one another, blaming each other for the violent stabbing of the unsuspecting Missouri mom. In other words, police were essentially able to get some sort of acknowledgement from the teens that they were involved in the death of the woman.

On social media, numerous people are expressing outrage at the fact that the two middle schoolers have been charged as juveniles in this particularly gruesome crime. They are accused of brutally stabbing a mother who has been described as a beloved member of her community, for no reason other than the idea that they wanted to steal her vehicle and drive it around for a bit. Currently, a petition is circulating demanding that the two teens be charged and tried as adults.

Do you think the two teens in this horrific case should be tried as adults?
