Angelina Jolie Talks Nude Scene After Mastectomy & Leaked Sony Emails Amid Cancer & Extreme Weight Loss Rumors
Angelina Jolie has become known as one of the most courageous women in the world, from her openness about undergoing surgery to lower her risk of breast cancer to her views on becoming an international ambassador to try to make a difference. But now the actress is confessing that, at 40, when she planned out her new movie with husband Brad Pitt, she initially hesitated to take the co-starring role, reported Us Weekly.
“There were lots of scenes I wanted to change or cut,” revealed Angelina. “I realized it was going to be me [naked] in that bathtub. But I told myself, put all of that aside. Like, you can’t change or cut this scene because you’ve had a mastectomy, or because we’re married and people are going to analyze this or that. That would be cheating.”
The surgery to which Jolie refers took place in 2013. Angelina made the decision to have a double mastectomy because of her high risk of breast cancer. The procedure was designed to lower her odds, and Brad was with her to support her.
Married after being together for 10 years, Jolie and Pitt view it as a “nice thing,” said the actress, especially when compared to the joint adoption of Zahar and Maddox.
“That was a decision to parent together, to commit to being a part of each other’s lives for the rest of my life. So [marriage] wasn’t close in comparison. In a way, it was very casual,” explained Angelina.
As for whether their children will follow in the footsteps of their famous acting parents, Jolie revealed that she’s not sure she’s enthusiastic about the idea. However, Maddox, now 14, happily took on the role as a gofer in his parents’ latest movie. That job made for an unusual encounter with his mom, recalled Jolie.
“I remember one day I was in my robe, my mascara was running down my face, my hair was still in curlers, and we ran into each other in the hallway. He just shook his head, like, ‘Wow, Mom. Nice.’ This business, I grew up in it myself, so I’d almost be happier if the kids weren’t interested. But [Maddox] loved it.”
Filming the new movie took place right after their wedding, and Angelina jokes about turning work into a honeymoon. Initially, Jolie thought it was a “bad idea.” But after they had finished, Angelina realized that they had discovered new depths in their relationship through challenges and even arguments.
“By the time we got to the end of the film… we’d pushed through,” reflected Jolie. “[We] came to like the idea of ‘Yeah, it gets really bad, but you work it out.'”
And Angelina has applied that same philosophy to the Sony Pictures Entertainment leaked emails scandal, reported the Wrap.
Included in the emails from two executives, Scott Rudin and Amy Pascal, were attacks on Jolie.
“There are certain things that bother me and certain things that don’t. Personal attacks on me? I think I’m just so used to it,” shrugged off Angelina. “Honestly, my first instinct was that I was worried about Amy.”
Jolie explained that she was concerned about the executive because she was aware Amy also had children, and she was concerned her life could be permanently impacted as a result of the leaks.
The most controversial email that was leaked about Angelina was from Rudin to Amy and dealt with Jolie’s decision to skip a Cleopatra movie in order to take on the role of director for Unbroken.
“I’m not destroying my career over a minimally talented spoiled brat who thought nothing of shoving this off her plate for eighteen months so she could go direct a movie. She’s a camp event and a celebrity… the last thing anybody needs is to make a giant bomb with her… We will end up being the laughing stock of our industry.”
Ouch.
Meanwhile, a new tabloid report claims that is facing a new cancer threat as well as such extreme weight loss that she weighs only 83 pounds, causing Brad and friends to fear for her impending death. But all those horrifying reports about Jolie are fiction, not fact, according to Gossip Cop.
The tabloid claimed that the double mastectomy boosted the likelihood that Angelina will die prematurely and that Jolie is constantly working to the point where Pitt has pleaded with her to take time off.
Other rumors included in the tabloid are that Angelina has lost so much weight that she’s dangerously thin and frequently skips meals.
Gossip Cop reports that all of these rumors are inventions.
