‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 12 — Callie’s New Girlfriend Causes Major Drama In ‘Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner’ [Preview]

Some shocking revelations are in store for Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) in the coming episode of Grey’s Anatomy. According to Realty Today, Callie’s (Sara Ramirez) newest love, Penny, will be at the center of these surprises as the hit medical drama continues its 12th season.

As Meredith and company planned their dinner party in the latest episode of the show, Callie announced that she was in a new relationship. While it is good to see Callie moving on with her life, her girlfriend came as a surprise to Meredith, who recognized her as one of the doctors who was unable to keep Derek alive.

To add to the awkwardness of the situation, Penny is set to be invited to the aforementioned dinner party. With that in mind, it doesn’t appear as though Meredith is going to react well to this intrusion into her life.

In a preview clip for the coming episode released by TV Line, Meredith doesn’t exactly play nice with her new house guest. Although she manages to keep everything calm at first, she unravels after noticing a portrait of her and Derek and quickly exits the room to find solace in her bathroom.

As the picture brings up old memories, Meredith has a flashback of Derek in the hospital. She remembers seeing Penny and recalls her interactions with the doctor, who told her that she just wasn’t a good enough doctor to save Derek’s life.

While Callie introduces Penny to everyone else at the party, it isn’t clear how Meredith is able to recover from the sudden onslaught of memories. Whether or not she pulls it together and continues on her duties as hostess is yet to be seen.

At the same time, Meredith is not the only one who is dissatisfied with Callie’s choice in women. In fact, Christian Today is reporting that Callie’s ex-wife, Arizona, is not looking forward to meeting Callie’s newest lover.

However, a meeting between the two is set to go down in the episode. With Arizona present at the party, Callie introduces the two just as Meredith flees the scene. How Arizona handles the situation is not shown in the clip from tomorrow’s Grey’s Anatomy, but it isn’t likely to go over well.

Elsewhere, it is not clear if Maggie will be able to go to the dinner party after she is called into work. With all the embarrassment that Maggie has suffered in the last few episodes, mainly stemming from her overnight ventures with the intern, her absence from the party might be good for her.

Meanwhile, another storyline to look forward to in the coming episode centers on the relationship between April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson (Jesse Williams). With things continuing to get worse for the couple, the coming episode doesn’t appear to feature any resolution, especially considering that a potential divorce was mentioned in the last episode.

That being said, is there still hope for April and Jackson’s marriage? Although things look fairly bleak for the two doctors, Williams recently sat down with People and seemed open to the idea that they might be able to work things out.

“There’s definitely hope,” Williams told the outlet. “It gets really grim. It’s still very grim. We’re will ahead, and I don’t know where it’s going.”

Whether or not the two will start to make strides in repairing their relationship in the coming episode is still to be seen. With Williams convinced that fans should not give up hope for the couple, it is possible that things start to turn around here.
