Mitt Romney’s Apple App Misspells ‘America’

If you don’t see Mitt Romney’s name on the ballot next to Barack Obama that might be because he is actually running for President of the United States of ‘Amercia.’ The Romney campaign recently submitted a Mitt Romney app to Apple and that was how America was spelled.

The app allows Romney supporters to take pictures and then overlay messages such as “I’m a Mom for Mitt” and “American Greatness.”

Sure spelling mistakes happen but opponents to the Mitt Romney campaign have been quick to jump on the mistake, pointing out that attention is in the details and in this case the details were lacking.

Of course the mistake is quickly becoming the next internet meme as people snap photos of spelling bee participants, toilets, dictionaries and other photos with the word “Amercia” splashed across them. The meme has become popular so fast that there is already a Tumblr to show off the best Mitt Romney “Amercia” photos

On Twitter users have taken the opportunity to attack Mitt Romney while having a little bit of fun, Mashable found these gems:

“Will Mitt Romney apologize for Amercia?” and “AMERCIA TEH BUETIFLU.

In the meantime the Mitt Romney acknowledges the error they a representative tells the Washington Post that the campaign has already submitted a fix for the app to Apple.

We also hear that Mitt Romney can count to potato, so he has that going for him.

Perhaps the GOP presidential hopefuls plan is to change America’s name in order to dodge all that pesky debt we have with China.
