‘RHOC’ Vicki Gunvalson And Brooks Ayers Break-Up: Claims He Faked Cancer The Reason For Their Split?

With the news that Real Housewives of Orange County’s Vicki Gunvalson recently decided to break up with her long-time boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, fans are left wondering why the couple decided to end things after four years of being together. With that in mind, did the controversy over Ayers and his cancer diagnosis have something to do with their split?

According to Radar Online, the couple decided to end things because the accusations that he was lying about his fight with cancer became too much for the couple to withstand.

“The priority for him had to shift away from being on a TV show where he is being accused of lying and pretending to have a life-threatening illness… It just became too much for them both to handle.Vicki was tired of defending him against the claims he was faking his cancer, but she did anyways until pretty much the end of the season.”

The source went on to reveal that Ayers’ health is now the No. 1 concern for both him and Gunvalson. “Brooks’ health really needs to be his number one priority right now and Vicki wants to see him live a long and full life,” the insider stated. “He needs to focus on his recovery and the added stress is definitely not good for his health.”

While the break-up appears to be amicable, Gunvalson did confirm that things are over for good between her and Ayers. “Yes we still care for one another and was not a bitter breakup,” she wrote on Twitter. “He has moved to Florida and hoping to stay in touch.”

Meanwhile, the drama concerning Ayers cancer continues to escalate on the Real Housewives of Orange County. In fact, according to People, the most recent episode featured three of Gunvalson’s friends confronting her about the issue, and urging her to release the medical records.

However, Gunvalson did not budge on her support of Ayers and continued to stand firm in her belief that she has nothing to prove. However, the issue is clearly starting to take a toll on the reality star, and by the end of the episode she was brought to tears.

“I’m trying to be as strong as I can be… I feel betrayed, I feel sad. When you’re a friend, you’re a friend. I don’t know how to end this, I just don’t.”

The next episode of the Real Housewives of Orange County airs Monday night on Bravo.
