‘American Horror Story’: Prepare For The Most Disturbing Scene Yet, Plus Will There Be Two Seasons Next Year?

It seems that the creative minds behind the American Horror Story television series are determined to bring the “most disturbing scene” yet to their latest installment, American Horror Story: Hotel. Because, apparently, Twisty the clown and the breastfeeding scene from previous seasons were just not horrific enough.

Co-creator Ryan Murphy recently told Entertainment Weekly that the disturbing scene will involve “Max Greenfield, Sarah Paulson’s Sally, and a little fella named ‘The Addiction Demon.’ ” The Addiction Demon will look like the character seen in the newly-released American Horror Story trailer below, but he will also be wearing a conical metal dildo. Murphy describes the Addiction Demon as follows.

“He is a representation of that and what people go through fighting addiction. It’s not done lightly or blithely. I think it’s very powerful and strong.”

While it seems the Addiction Demon certainly does hold the potential for the most disturbing scene ever on American Horror Story, for cast regular, Sarah Paulson, it is just another day at the office.

“None of it’s crazy to me. I walk in and I’m like ‘Hello conical dildo demon person.’ I don’t even think twice. I had two heads last year — I don’t know what you want me to say. Like there’s nothing anybody can do on the show to shock me anymore.”

Speaking of two heads, Ryan Murphy has also suggested there might be a yearly double dose of American Horror Story further on down the track. As he recently announced to Entertainment Weekly, there might be two installments of American Horror Story next year.

“Next year we might do a fall American Horror Story and a spring. We have to decide… We’re doing something that we’ve never done before on the show where we’re doing two different groups of writers rooms. Some of our writers will be bouncing around but a whole different group coming in late August. The next thing we’re crafting up is very, very different than this. Not smaller. But just not opulent. More rogue and more dark.”

It sounds like American Horror Story might be following in the footsteps of AMC’s hugely popular The Walking Dead franchise, who not only premiered a companion series this month, called Fear The Walking Dead, but also just announced there will be a half hour standalone that will tie in with Fear The Walking Dead.

American Horror Story: Hotel will premiere on Wednesday October 7, 2015, on FX.
