Fantasy Football Wide Receivers — Who’s Hot And Who’s Not

Which wide receivers do you want on your fantasy football team this year? The wide receiver position is the deepest position to many people in fantasy football. Everyone wants a receiver that is very consistent, right? If you are picking a player in the first round and the top running backs are already taken, it might be a good time to choose a wide receiver.

Bleacher Report says if you are a forward thinker, then you should build your fantasy football team around your wide receivers.

“Building your team around the best talent at the WR and RB spots early in your draft is the way to go, with WR taking top priority because they’re less likely to get hurt.”

Antonio Brown seems to be the elite choice for the wide receiver position. He had the most points in scoring and points per reception in 2014, and he was a consistent receiver, putting 10 fantasy football points on the board in 14 out of 16 of his games. He is projected to lead the position in receptions (117) and yardage (1,534) as well as total fantasy points.

Demaryius Thomas is the second choice, as this season starts with 10 points or more in all but three of his games last season. Other wide receivers that were able to score at least 10 points in 10 or more of their games were Randall Cobb, Dez Bryant, Jordy Nelson, Alshon Jeffery, and Emmanuel Sanders.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, these are wide receiver rankings from fantasy football coach Jerry Greene for the 2015 season.

Antonio Brown, Pittsburgh

Demaryius Thomas, Denver

Julio Jones, Atlanta

Calvin Johnson, Detroit

Dez Bryant, Dallas

Randall Cobb, Green Bay

Odell Beckham Jr., ER Giants

A.J. Green, Cincinnati

T.Y. Hilton, Indianapolis

Alshon Jeffrey, Chicago

Jordan Matthews, Philadelphia

Golden Tate, Detroit

Brandin Cooks, New Orleans

Emmanuel Sanders, Denver

Andre Johnson, Indianapolis

Brandon Marshall, ER Jets

Martavis Bryant, Pittsburgh

Nelson Agholor, Philadelphia

Victor Cruz, ER Giants

Breshad Perriman, Baltimore

Davante Adams, Green Bay

Amari Cooper, Oakland

According to Greene, there are a couple of things to remember.

“One thing — This is gambling. Doesn’t matter what the lawyers and judges say. It’s gambling unless you swear your league rewards the winner with nothing more than playing Queen’s ‘We are the Champions.’ So it’s gambling — and so what? It’s your money.

“The other thing — It’s supposed to be fun. It should be great fun. And it should be bonding. However, if at any time you are not having fun, stop and reevaluate. You are doing something wrong.”

Good Luck Fantasy Football players!
