Meek Mill’s Career Disintegrates Amidst Drake Victory Celebration

Meek Mill took on Drake, hoping to raise his profile among music hopefuls. He shouldn’t be feeling any regrets right now. Meek Mill tried. He challenged one of the most noticeable faces in the game. He lost, yeah, but at least he went for it.

Drake didn’t seem to mind, and rather enjoyed the challenge. But Meek Mill just couldn’t hit back hard enough. He was already down two to zero when he released his diss track. But Twitter trash talk seemed to be more his specialty than battle rap tracks once people heard “Wanna Know.”

Not sure what Meek Mill can do to recover. How wise would it be to come out with another weak track and further inspire the wrath of internet meme artists everywhere? He needs to consult with some battle rap veterans, or risk a mediocre end to a mediocre beginning.

Despite all the squabbling on Twitter before Meek Mill responded with “Wanna Know,” he’s been silent on Twitter since then. Meek is probably somewhere wondering what he’s going to do now. Maybe he’s asking his girlfriend, Nicki Minaj, for some rhyme-writing advice.

To be honest, both of these guys came with weak songs. These aren’t the battle raps of the old days, when LL Cool J took on Canibus. It also doesn’t come close to that 50 Cent vs. Ja Rule thing. It’s not worth even mentioning Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac, since no one likes the way that ended.

Despite both rappers relatively tame diss tracks, Drake indeed does a better job. If Meek Mill was going to battle someone, he certainly picked the right person in the right position. Meek Mill tried to battle someone more popular than him, yet only just a little better in the skills department.

But the Meek Mill bashing continued, USA Today reported how Drake, Will Smith, and Kanye West all had a laugh at Meek. Meek Mill saw ultimate embarrassment when all of the disparaging memes about him were projected for rabid Drake fans during the Canadian rapper’s annual hometown performance. Pharrell Williams, Travis Scott, and Future also joined the Meek Mill bashing on stage.

As for whether Meek Mill will ever return to Twitter, or return to music, for that matter, we will have to wait until the Drake victory celebration dies down to truly know. In the meantime, Meek Mill can still work on his Twitter game. Maybe a 140 character Twitter post and then silence was all he needed to win this in the first place.
