‘Supergirl’ Adds ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Alum To Star As DC Comic’s Reactron

The upcoming DC Comics series Supergirl is set to add another villain to the lineup. According to Entertainment Weekly, Chris Browning will be playing one of Superman’s old adversaries when the series premieres this fall on CBS.

Browning is known for his role on Kurt Sutter’s Sons of Anarchy and The 100 and is a prime candidate to play a villain. With that in mind, Browning will be appearing in the news series as Ben Krull, also known as Reactron. Reactron is a past opponent of Superman who is equipped with a special suit that generates power via nuclear energy.

Krull, as a former enemy of Superman, has always failed in his attempts to kill the superhero. However, the villain now has his eyes on a new target in Supergirl, played by Melissa Benoist.

Supergirl, whose name is Kara Zor-El in the series, managed to get out of Krypton before it was destroyed and is a cousin to Superman. Like her relative, Kara was raised by foster parents after making her way to planet Earth. In contrast to her cousin, Kara has remained out of the public eye and has worked hard to keep her powers and identity a secret.

The new series, which is based on the comics, picks up with Kara, now in her mid-twenties, working for a media expert named Cat Grant in National City. Along with Grant, other characters in the media outlet include Kara’s close friend and IT expert Winn Scott, and photographer James Olsen. Olsen worked at the Daily Planet photographing Superman before being hired by Grant.

While Kara has managed to keep her powers under wraps, she is approached by Agent Hank Henshaw, who is a part of a secret government agency, after she uses her powers to help out a friend. Henshaw convinces Kara to help him defend the city against potential threats, and Kara finally embraces her extraordinary powers to become Supergirl.

However, going public with her gifts comes with its own set of drawbacks as Kara manages to attract Krull, who sees killing her as an opportunity to get back at Superman.

While details concerning the storyline of the new character have not been revealed, it is known that Krull will appear in the third episode of the series. Further, Krull is set to be a recurring enemy for Supergirl throughout the first season.

Supergirl is set to air October 26 on CBS.
