‘Real Housewives Of Orange County’ Star Vicki Gunvalson Has No Regrets Over Airing Tragic Phone Call, Meghan King Edmonds Struggles To Connect In Episode 6

Vicki Gunvalson’s time on the Real Housewives of Orange County has seen her live through both the good and bad times of her life. One of those harder moments for Gunvalson was featured in a recent episode, where the reality star was shown receiving the news that her mother, Joanne Steinmetz, had passed away. Despite her subsequent meltdown, Gunvalson doesn’t regret her decision to allow cameras to film her getting the phone call.

“It’s part of my reality. I lost my mother. I signed up for all areas of my life to be exposed — the good and the bad,” Gunvalson stated in an interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.

“There’s been a lot of great moments that have been aired and there’s a lot of moments that I wish I wasn’t on a reality show.”

Gunvalson went on to state that she doesn’t hold any regrets about the show airing the difficult footage. “This is not a moment that I feel, as of right now, that I regret, because statistically people are going to lose their parents, right? We’re going to be alive when our parents die, statistically,” she stated. “I don’t blame Bravo, I don’t blame [RHOC’s production company] Evolution, I don’t blame anybody — it’s my life.”

Following the airing of the last episode of Real Housewives of Orange County, Gunvalson wrote a blog post dedicated to her mother. “It’s been five months since my mom died and there isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t want to pick up the phone to ask her a question or tell her I love her,” she wrote. “I miss her so much, but know one day I will be with her in Heaven and at peace. I want to stress the importance of not putting off taking to or spending time with the ones you love. You never know when they will be taken from you.”

Meanwhile, as the show moves forward, Vicki’s loss has helped some of her co-stars understand the need to connect with their own family. In particular, Meghan King Edmonds has taken the situation as an opportunity to try and open the lines of communication with her step-daughter, Hayley.

In a trailer for the coming episode, Edmonds is seen telling Hayley that she thought of her while Vicki was dealing with the loss of her mother. “For me … I was looking through a lens at you,” Edmonds stated.

However, her attempt to connect with her stepdaughter didn’t go well, and Hayley responded by telling Edmonds that “There’s nothing we can do.”
