Fans were shocked to learn that Shannon Beador ‘s husband, David, had an affair during the season 10 premiere of the Real Housewives of Orange County . Since the reveal, Shannon and David have been seen working hard to repair the damage to their marriage through therapy. But that has not stopped Shannon seeming a little broken so far this season.
How much David’s betrayal hurt Shannon has never been more apparent than in this week’s episode where David innocently told Shannon that he ran into a woman. The shock is all over Shannon’s face and she explained why in her RHOC Bravo blog .
“David had just come home moments earlier and started telling me how he ran into a girl. It didn’t make sense to me and I thought he was talking ‘in code’ to let me know he had seen his affair. You can see the shock in my eyes. He did not run into her. When that day comes, I am sure it may bring up certain emotions, but that was the past. I trust in the bond I have forged with David in the last year and I know he is committed to me.”
David’s commitment to fixing his marriage was made even more clear later in the episode when he explains that he has no interest in seeing his mistress ever again.
“David has told me numerous times that when and if he runs into her he is going to keep walking,” Shannon revealed to the Real Housewives of Orange County cameras, via OK! . “He will never speak to her. I trust that he’s telling me the truth.”
Shannon went into further detail about how the couple has a long road ahead of them in her blog post.
“David and I have made a lot of positive progress up to this episode, but you hear me talk about a bump in that progress tonight. When infidelity happens over the course of months, it isn’t possible to know everything that happened during that time period. The end result, however, is what is most important. If I happen to realize a lie that was told to me during the affair, David affirms his love for me and I feel his remorse. That is communication. That is moving forward. That is love.”
Although her costar Vicki Gunvalson thinks the odds are stacked against the Beador’s marriage making it in the long run, David and Shannon seem committed to making it work.
