Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: Tyler Perry Visits, Joins Family For Vigil

Actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry visited Bobbi Kristina Brown this weekend at the Peachtree Christian Center Hospice care in Duluth, Georgia. Family members welcomed him in as they continue to hold a vigil for her.

Perry, creator of the TBS show, For Better or Worse, worked with Bobbi Kristina on a 2012 episode of the series. Family members said that working on the show was one of the most happiest times of her life since her mother, the late Whitney Houston, passed away. She appeared as a guest on the show just months after her mother’s death.

Bobbi Kristina’s aunt, Pat Houston, who starred alongside her niece in the 2012 reality show The Houstons: On Our Own, felt that helping Bobbi Kristina focus on work and her career would help her heal from her mother’s tragic death.

Perry, 45, enjoyed working with Bobbi Kristina on his show and has kept in contact with her family since the January 31 incident that left her comatose in her own bathtub. He visited earlier this year in February when she was still at Atlanta’s Emory University Hospital.

Talk show host Oprah Winfrey is close friends with Tyler Perry and had Bobbi Kristina on her show in both 2009 and 2012. Earlier this year, Winfrey opened up about the heartbreaking issue, but couldn’t quite find the words to say.

“There aren’t any words right now. It’s a sad time.”

Winfrey also indicated that Perry was active in trying to help Bobbi Kristina after her mother passed away. He was also there for Houston amid her drug use accusations. Perry was close to Houston and tried to help her daughter as much as he could.

“Tyler has been really close to the family. Tyler was really supportive of Whitney when she had her troubles — he intervened and tried to help her — and I know that he’s been instrumental in trying to help Bobbi Kristina, too.”

Entertainment Tonight reports that Perry arrived at the hospice care center in a blue Rolls Royce. He stayed by her bedside for several hours before leaving.

Meanwhile, Nick Gordon, Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend, remains the primary suspect in the investigation into what happened on January 31. When police arrived that day, Bobbi Kristina was comatose and had several marks and bruises that didn’t correlate with someone who had only drowned.

Family members filed a civil suit against Gordon earlier this week, claiming that he knocked some of Bobbi Kristina’s teeth out, pulled her up the stairs by her hair, and stole $11,000 from her bank account while she was in the hospital.

Although the family is suing Gordon for $11 million, a source indicates that it really isn’t about the money, as the family is clearly aware that Gordon, who was unemployed when living with Bobbi Kristina, doesn’t have that kind of money. Instead, the family is hoping that a civil lawsuit will bring in enough evidence to bring about criminal charges.

The Roswell Police Department handed over the investigation to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office (DA) last week.

Family members are still remaining hopeful for Bobbi Kristina Brown. They thank everyone for their prayers and support.
